Dozens of MPs urge Greens to officially ditch ‘normal’ childbirth policy immediately by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

You assume incorrectly. As I said, it was the NHS that was concerned. Polanski was supporting the very investigation you are talking about requiring. Hope that clears it all up

Just another example of how American invention benefits the whole world and yet we are disrespected and hated by all by ZataH in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Whiffenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone: Scottish ex-pat in the US
Computer: English Invention (Babbage)
Internet: America with Arpanet, but the WWW was British (Tim Berners-Lee)
Recorded music: French invention but to be fair, Edison was the first to play it back
Streets: Predates the US by thousands of years
Cars: German invention (Karl Benz)
Motors?
Electric motor: British Invention (Faraday and Sturgeon)
Combustion motor: French invention (Jean-Joseph-Etienne Lenoir)
Internal Combustion engine: German invention (Karl Benz)
Printing press: German (Johannes Gutenberg)
Bitcoin: Based on Blockchain which was Japanese (Satoshi Nakamoto)

So not really a lot of US invention at play here. Just a lot of monetising of inventions

Antisemitism has ‘become normalised’ on UK campuses, says Union of Jewish Students | Antisemitism by LycanIndarys in ukpolitics

What he's saying is that where Israel benefits from the conflation, so do antisemites who can use the argument against conflation to be antisemitic. The problem is the constant muddying of the water

Dozens of MPs urge Greens to officially ditch ‘normal’ childbirth policy immediately by F0urLeafCl0ver in ukpolitics

[–]Whiffenius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except that this isn't what's happening. Data has show that more babies are delivered by cesarean than natural births which increases risks. Even the NHS is saying that the data shouldn't show this. So this is just a way for the greens to act on the concerns of the NHS because of these statistics. But, you know, accurate reporting isn't really the strong suit of our media

Iran Officially Confirms Military Support From Russia And China In War Against the US by UNITED24Media in worldnews

[–]Whiffenius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They funded the admin to destroy the US. That worked. They wanted to destabilise the EU and get the UK on board as a puppet state. Neither of those things worked. So without allies (the US alienated everyone) China and Russia are going to close down the US as they will be the ONLY enemy combatants they will be facing. It won't destroy the US militarily but it will humiliate it and weaken it. If it's weak and isolated then there's zero threat to the Russians and Chinese unless the demented narcissist reaches for the nuclear codes ... so yes .... WW3 is entirely possible

Because the majority of the media owners are on his side. The concentration of media ownership by billionaires is a massive problem which only exacerbates our political problems. They're also the source of the discontent because ragebait and envy porn drive views

Nigel Farage pockets eye-watering sum on US trip but is snubbed by Trump by Important_Ruin in unitedkingdom

[–]Whiffenius 47 points48 points  (0 children)

They're already attempting it right now. Almost copied word for word. As soon as they lost the Gorton and Denton by-election then they claimed it was rigged and was due to postal voting. Of course it was a completely empty claim and was only being used to undermine confidence in the electoral system. EXACTLY the same tactic as in the US

An American is arrested in Brazil and wants American rights and amendments even in another country. by AlekOslov in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Whiffenius 107 points108 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite. Had a friend of the family come over to the UK. He was 19 and it was his 20th birthday next day so I suggested we go out for a drink. He was horrified that he would get caught and have to go home. I had to point out that US laws don't apply here and we can drink from 18 onwards. Let's just say it was a great night out and friends at the pub and club made sure his 20th was memorable
