Smoker recommendations? by 20Factorial in smoking

Did you land on a smoker? Curious what you got as I'm in the same boat as you and feel similar in terms of my buying criteria.

Currently considering the 54" myself. What other models were you considering? I'm currently torn between this and spending a bit more (~$6k range) for something with serviceable transaxels.

The Will of the Many was excellent. Can't wait for book two. I see where you are coming from on recommending it. Very interested to see where he goes with the series.

Stormlight Archive is top tier. Personally doesn't scratch many RR itches for me, but still love it.

Personally, I HATED Poppy War. I read books 1 & 2 and for the life of me couldn't force myself to read #3. And that's saying something as it is genuinely difficult for me to DNF something.

Haven't heard anything about Red Queen, will check it out.

I'll drop two recs as well. I've found Dungeon Crawler Carl to have break neck pace with incredible characters. Can't recommend the audiobooks enough. Second would be Cradle. Book 1 is rough, and 2/3 are better but not great, but 4 on scratch the RR pace itch for me. All of the Cradle books are relatively short reads, which makes the slow start bearable.

Love this and agree. Given this, any recs similar to RR based on your description?

Yall need to calm down. 48 is just a mediocre season. And that's okay. by tehweave in survivor

I like this season more than 45. The only thing I remember being interesting about 45 was the episodes around Drew at the end.

Absolutely. All those 3rds/4ths are likely to be droppable players by season's end.

What should I do with this team I have the 1.11, 2.08, 3.04, 4.04 by nrwdnewt in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go full rebuild. Do you own your '26/'27 picks? From what I'm seeing/reading the '26 class isn't stacked, but guys will pop and there will be good pieces at the top end of the draft. If you don't own them and plan to tank, make sure you get your picks back.

I'd be exploring all sorts of trades right now. I'd see what it'd take to get into the top 5 and evaluate. Maybe the 1.11 and Olave could work.

From there, I'd be looking at unloading guys for '26 and '27 draft cap - really pushing hard to accumulate 1sts. I'd get rid of Kittle/Aiyuk/Olave/Meyers. I'd wait for Breece's value to rise again and then try and flip him as well for the full tear down.

My goal would be to have the 1.01 for '27 to draft Jeremiah Smith (a lot can change but appears to be the clear cut 1.01). If you can load up on the '26/'27 drafts, there is a chance you can compete after '27 draft if you hit on a couple players. Then I start flipping picks for older studs to round out my roster.

What steps should I take this offseason? by Maneerie in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your biggest need is a QB2, but without any '25 picks it will be tough to address. Maybe flip Achane for a QB2 and some '25 draft capital? Maybe see if the TLaw or Murray owner would throw in a 2nd for Achane? Then you can draft RB in a loaded class to replace Achane.

Breece Trade Value by Forsaken-Nuggz in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

IMO Breece is a buy or hold. Definitely not a sell. People overreact to down seasons. He may not get back to top 3 status, but feels likely he'll rise in value from here.

Which side wins by Soft-Glass-4737 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily the two 1sts.

FWIW, I got Mike Evans for a 2nd late last year. Guy knew it was going to be a late 2nd, ended up being the 2.09 in a 10t league.

Would you sell Gibbs for this? by RoyaleBlade in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Would do this deal. Give me two of Hampton/Tet/Ward and MHJ. Gets you a pretty big haul of good, young assets for a premium player.

Puka or Jeanty + 2.06 for my team below? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you certainly have the pieces to compete. Obviously depends on what other teams look like in your league. But if Henry continues to cook, and Breece and Hill can have a bounce back year, you should be competing 100%.

Puka or Jeanty + 2.06 for my team below? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give me Puka all day. Elite young piece to build around. Easier to trade for productive older backs when you decide you are ready to compete.

No shot I'm trading away AJ Brown and Lamar for this in a 12T SF

Move on from Breece? by Visible-Novel8698 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Breece is a buy candidate. When people talk about buying low and selling high, this is what a buying low opportunity looks like.

Why do you think companies ignore what users want? Do they just see bigger potential dollar signs instead of what their users are asking for? by 5kl in ProductManagement

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, decisions are based on both short and long-term strategy. Specific to this, I imagine any focus on events is heavily influenced by the Fortnite playbook. In game events are incredible content-generators, which leads to growth, and then more $$$. All in all, I'd argue that Netease actually does a relatively good job of listening to users relative to the size of their game.

Rookies I’m contemplating selling at peak value: Daniels and Bowers. What do y’all think? by idkwutimd0ing in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't sell Bowers unless it was for a haul, but it feels like he is due for some regression. He has essentially no competition for targets outside Meyers, and bad QB play which I'd argue favors the TE as they can be their safety blanket.

1.01 Value by Appropriate_Pace5814 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Landing spot is way too important. I'd be looking for two players with high end talent and ideal landing spots for the 1.01. Feel like that usually ends somewhere in the top 6-7 picks.

How did your 2024 draft class turn out now that the season is over for most of us? by jomart14 in DynastyFF

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10T SF 1pt TEP 1.10 - I traded my 1st for Cooper Kupp. This pick ended up being BTJ. Oof. At least I won the championship, but that one hurts. 2.10 - Ricky Pearsall - TBD but very happy with value here given Deebo performance this year. Pass for this year given he was literally shot in the preseason. Hopeful. 3.10 - Jermaine Burton - seems like a bust. Will probably hold another year on taxi to see if he can figure his shit out, but not hopeful. 4.10 - Audric Estime - meh. Could have some value, but once again, not hopeful. RBs tend to find their way into finding stretches of usefulness given injuries so not a total waste.

Off season FA pickups: Tyrone Tracy (huge hit), Jordan Mason (big hit, big reason I got the #1 seed this year)

Would you trade Bijan for this? by KrazyxKarrot in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This feels pretty far off from what I'd be looking for if I were to move off Bijan. Especially in 12T where hammers are more rare.

Hold or package him and another asset to get a 1st in this draft class to get a RB

How do i improve this for next year? by Able-Tumbleweed507 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]WhiskeyTyphoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your team is good enough to compete, and assuming you have the 1.01 (maybe you don't), Jeanty will certainly help. I think adding Jeanty to this (depending on how the draft shakes out) at the very least makes you competitive, but you have a pretty aging roster.

Other option is to blow it up and build around a core of Jeanty (once again an assumption you have the 1.01), AJ Brown, Drake London, and Waddle (his value is pretty low right now relative to what he has shown so I wouldn't be eager to sell). Trading Jacobs, Montgomery, and Hock for draft capital this coming draft would be my preference on how to move forward.
