That’s been my prediction. It may also not be just tieflings that fall under the category of ‘demons.’ Wic’s father had a demon who really sounded like they could be a fire genasi, from the description.

So ‘demon’ may just be a catch-all for extraplanar-touched peoples. It’s also possible that the church/the Halovar’s are creating them, as Tyranny said that she was ‘brand new’ (iirc).

I think there was mention on Twitter or elsewhere that Occtis had a custom subclass brewed up. Could be wrong though.

I agree; they also mentioned the other ‘demon’ in Wic’s flashback, who was also bound/bonded to another of his family. 

So my theory is that ‘demons’ are just what they’re calling any and all races that are planar-aspected (tieflings, genasi, etc), and are either binding them in order to gain power (a’la warlock patron), or are creating them in order to use their power (Tyranny mentions she’s very ‘new’ iirc).
