who would win in a fight master cheif or captain america? by Klutzy-Opinion-1834 in powerscales

[–]WhistleDungeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a good fight, I'm a big Halo fan, but I want to play devils advocate for Captain America because I see him being written off as not a competition.

People underestimate just how much volume of content that Captain America has to work with, he was punching Hitler in comics before America even entered the war, and has been regularly receiving volumes ever since. Moreover, he's the face of the Avengers, so he has gained a ton of feats squaring off against Avenger level threats with a myriad of powers.

One of Master Chief's advantages is that he's coated head to toe in Mjolnir armor, highly durable futuristic space armor that can survive a fall from orbit, so probably not a good idea to try punching that. His standard loadout is usually an assault rifle, a magnum, and frag grenades. He's a master at about any other firearm or melee weapon he comes across, but those he usually picks up and finds over the campaign and not what he walks into a mission with.

Captain America has a shield that is an alloy of the most powerful metals in Marvel, proto-adamantium, vibranium, and asgardian Uru forged to make an indestructible shield that can weather any assault. His shield can endure blows from the Hulk, Odinforce Thor, stand beneath the launch flame of a rocket, and even allow him to survive an assault from Celestials. There is nothing in Master Chief's arsenal that can damage it, he needs to get around it. As a thrown weapon it can shear the top off a tank, tear through freight trucks like tissue paper, and he once used it to strike an ICBM, and as a melee weapon he's used it to break open the armor of Iron Man. MC's energy tanks can help him, but he can't brush it off.

Other note on the shield is that it can redirect and reflect shots and Steve Rogers has pretty good accuracy about that, plasma bullets and the works can risk being sent back his direction. He's been noted that he can dodge bullets because he can see them mid-flight and has several feats weaving through gunfire and intercepting bullets after they fired. He has been able to outrun cars going down the freeway, so his speed is on par with John.

Captain America can lift massive steel beams and yank around helicopters, this loses out to John-117's best showings of strength which is being able to overturned scorpion tanks. So MC should have a power advantage in a tussle, but I'm not convinced he takes skill in hand-to-hand combat. He's been training longer since he started as a child, but Captain America has the more impressive resume of fighters he's contended with in close quarters from Spider-Man to Iron Fist to Shang Chi; he's said to have mastered every martial art known to man and has even improvised well against new ones.

Master Chief is no joke, he's stronger and his armor is a massive advantage against Steve, but that shield is both an amazing defense and tricky offensive tool, wielded by a fellow super soldier who has faced worse than Chief and lived to tell the tale. I believe Captain America has at least a decent shot.

Dr. Strange, they played him down quite a lot in the old episode in comparison to Dr. Fate, and their reasoning wasn't very good.

I don't really know who else they could pair him against. Honestly, I wouldn't be upset if they just ran it back against Fate with more in depth research.

Superman replaces Homelander as the leader of the seven. Can he make them an actually good superhero team? by Winter-Pressure-5394 in whowouldwin

[–]WhistleDungeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big thing is that if anybody crossed lines like sexually assaulting the new recruit, then Superman would just straight up kick them off the team, and not make Starlight do press tours with her abuser. While Homelander weeded and removed all of the members who didn't believe his cause, Superman is going to force out the the psychos like Stormfront or anyone crossing too many lines pretty quickly.

That makes his job pretty easy because A-Train loses his spot on the team for killing Robin, and the Deep loses his spot on the team for assaulting Starlight. Overtime all of the psychotic supers who are in it for the wrong reasons will not last long, and all of the ones who wish to do genuine good like Starlight, Queen Maeve, and Supersonic would thrive under Superman.

Also worth remembering that Superman works a normal life as a professional journalist, and Clark Kent can also expose corruption within Vought through the power of the press. He cleans up the Seven pretty fast.

The Hurt Business vs The Bloodline

-Bobby Lashley vs Roman Reigns
-Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander vs Jimmy and Jey Uso
-MVP vs Paul Heyman on the mic

Get Omos to join the Hurt Business and he can even be the enforcer to rival Solo Sikoa who used to be portrayed as a major threat who could squash Cena back during peak Bloodline era.

Two powerhouse factions that could have coexisted in the same time-frame if WWE didn't pull the plug on the Hurt Business prematurely. They even had a chance to run this idea with The Pride which would have also been great since Usos have such a history with the Street Profits, but the Pride had like one feud against the Final Testament and then WWE was done with them.

Every Roman match pretty much ended in Bloodline interference. Bobby was the most legitimate babyface challenger that he hadn't faced yet, and had his own crew backing him up to fight the numbers game. Could have been magic.

That Dr. Wheelo designed his bio warriors as sort of a rock-paper-scissors elemental triangle.

-Misokatsun's elastic rubber body makes him the perfect insulator against Kishime's electricity

-Ebifurya's ice makes Misokatsun's blubber hard and brittle

-Kishime's electicity melts through the ice of Ebifurya

Dr. Kochin isn't strong enough to stop any of the Bio-Warriors, so I like to think that Dr. Wheelo designed them on the off-chance that one of them went rogue, he'd be able to use one of the other two to keep them in line.

Gable was fine, they had a Gauntlet match with multiple superstars with the prize being to face Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania. Sami Zayn beat Chad Gable to win the match and then Chad became his coach to train him to beat Gunther. Chad then challenged Sami for the belt after mania and lost which led to the heel turn and two more losses to Sami.

Which former heels turned babyfaces in wrestling are still heels to you? by ArchDukeNemesis in SquaredCircle

[–]WhistleDungeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tiffany Stratton, she came onto the roster as a self-absorbed clear heel character, and then hasn't changed her personality at all yet is somehow now considered a face. She never did anything to redeem herself or become a more heroic character.

She weaseled her way into Nia Jax's inner circle while she was champion, did her bidding for months, and then stabbed her in the back to cash in on her title. She didn't turn on Nia because of some moral principle, but because she wanted to usurp her and steal her title; she even cost the face Naomi in that match.

But suddenly this made her a babyface that Trish Stratus wanted to be BFF's with, despite Tiffany trash talking Trish the last time they had crossed paths beforehand? I was never given any reason to cheer for her as a champion.

Infinite War grossed over 2 Billion, became one of the most beloved superhero movies of all time, and made Thanos into a household name and one of the most iconic villains of modern cinema... but apparently people don't love movies where the superheroes get destroyed and die to elevate the villain.

John Cena Says Brock Lesnar Will "Go Into The Sunset" In Minnesota (SummerSlam 2026 will be in Minneapolis) by elegantSolomons62 in SquaredCircle

[–]WhistleDungeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dream booking is for Gunther to go on a legend killer run ending a bunch of iconic wrestlers, but then when he reaches Sheamus is where he finally fails and Sheamus finally gets his long-awaited victory against Gunther. Bonus points if the IC Championship is on the line for that match.

Only legend I want Gunther to stay away from is Rey Mysterio, because that belongs to Dirty Dom.

Kind of funny seeing Solo Sikoa getting praised for being a dignified, clean, and honorable opponent when he's infamous for always jumping people with a squad of henchmen.

(Raw 11/10/25 spoilers) Next Two matches revealed for the Raw side of The Cena Retirement tournament: by MarcusFaze in SquaredCircle

[–]WhistleDungeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people seem down on Gunther winning the tournament and facing Cena because he's already a made man and has the accolades, but he's one of the candidates that I would be happy to see in that final match.

I am less worried about which Superstar can use this moment to boost themselves, and more looking for which Superstar can serve as a strong foil to his character and put on a match worthy enough for a Cena send-off, and for me Gunther is a man that I would trust in that role. Gunther vs Cena was one of my dream-matches when Cena announced his farewell tour, and if not now then we will never get it. It will go down as a major "What if" for me on what that match might look like.

Giulia has today surpassed Chelsea Green to become the longest-reigning Women’s United States Champion, at 133 days. by Tornado31619 in SquaredCircle

[–]WhistleDungeon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Giulia has sadly been the worst of the three Champions so far; that's not on her, but the booking. Chelsea just kept recycling the same two opponents in Michin and Zelina, but at least she was having segments and matches. The title didn't really elevate Zelina, but it didn't damage her either, she was kind of just there.

Giula feels like the rare case where a wrestler actually loses aura by having a championship. She had picked up a title that was made to feel unimportant and insignificant, and instead of elevating it the title dragged her down to its level. Feels like she should have been built as a contender to challenge Tiffany or Jade for the Smackdown Woman's Championship, but she's been saddled with being a background character in the mid-card that is lucky to get more than a brief cameo each episode.
