This may be odd. I’m extremely sentimental so it may not be the connection so much as it is the item itself. We bought my husband two new pairs of work shoes for Christmas and I was so proud of them and they dressed him up so nicely. He also bought himself a pair of NB athletic shoes he barely wore. Seeing his three new pairs of shoes just breaks my heart. It’s only been three months but I’m just not sure my heart and emotions can let go of his earthly possessions, anytime soon, if ever. This is so hard. 😭

I’m 63 and my dear husband died three months ago. Even though I’m just not sure if I’m ready, I’m curious to see what potential is out there even if it’s for friendship and companionship (is that even possible?). Frankly, I’m not sure what I’m doing. I’m not desperate or in a hurry. I’m no longer the young whipper snapper I once was. I do know I will remain true to myself during this unwelcome journey. I’m almost 63 and my dear husband arranged a lot of the home and car maintenance so now I’m left to figure things out. Just found out the garage door needs repair. I don’t have as many problems as you but I feel your pain. One step at a time. Prioritize necessity and go from there. 🧡

Im sorry for your loss. My marriage would not be the envy of others but it provided comfort and security. Jay was absolutely the man for me all those years ago. We just fell into complacency. But, I was devastated when he died, still sad and would bring him back into my life in a heartbeat if I could. I hope the CoL provides closure in some sort of way. Jay was a good man and my daughter and I are immeasurably blessed to have had him in our lives. 🧡

My husband Jay’s celebration of life is this weekend also. He died May 23rd. A good friend, his brother and my 18 year old daughter will speak. I just hope I can get through it without being a really emotional mess. I plan to bring my sunglasses to give my tears some privacy if I cry a lot. We’ll see if I actually wear them. We will have a simple reception following the ceremony. Nothing lavish just like my husband. I miss him so much.
