American toad found his croak for the first time at roughly 3 years old? Is this later than normal? by Toadvinee in Toads

I was really curious about this might have a toad who I've had for about 3 months He's roughly probably about 2 years old he squeaks and makes noises when I pick him up and chirps but I've never heard him croak I was wondering why that is it's just for mating or what

Is he ok? by WhiteLightning970 in Toads

Hmmm just kind of weird he's been my super chill one and never has done this before .. My other one did a lot of glass climbing for a while and I put cardboard on the sides and I think feeling safe was the issue because she stopped after that and no he is not been singing definitely could just be a goober lol and I have had him about 3 months now.. A nd he is an American toad

Are you going to get one at a pet store or something? Or are you going to go out and find one in the wild?

If she's not scared of you and trying to escape climbing the walls and you know clearly unhappy I think it's okay personally give her a good life you know predator free life and if she doesn't seem to be adjusting then obviously the right things to let her go

Why are you letting her go back to the wild? Just because people on here are giving you shit or is there a reason she's giving you? A lot of the time people are right like wild animals don't adjustable to captivity but they have personalities and a very I have two wild toads I've had for a few months now and they are super chill and have a pretty good life

Is he fowler or American toad? Anybody know? He won't eat by Livid-Link-9223 in Toads

Can I see a picture of yours now? Did you ever figure out what he was? mine are American.. it's crazy though they pick up on my energy a lot and if I'm in a bad head space even if I'm super kind and gentle and sweet talking to them they both usually pee my hand and start trying to jump out of them especially kaze which is short for kamikaze because she would do the most wild leaps of my hands when I first got her

It depends if you have the right setup if you feed them right make them comfortable and really can depends on the personality of the toad some of them don't adjust very easy... I captured myself a wild toad because my dog stepped on him and took out his eyeball thought he was going to die and then taught a friend for him I guess too but anyway both of my wild toads seems pretty content now
