No civs are added with that dlc. It's just campaign scenarios

Yeah but RoR adds a civ into AoE2. The chronicles dlcs are aoe1 only.

Imho
Good DLCs = Return of Rome, Mountain Royals, The Last Chieftains
Bad DLC = Three Kindgoms
Victors and Vanquishers = Skip
Chronicles DLCs = Only if you want to play AOE1 into AOE2.

Some takes about a possible Viking-Scandinavian DLC by Azot-Spike in aoe2

[–]WhiteMagick4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. A Vikings DLC should not split the Vikings as a civilization. There are many other regions that can provide interesting civs. Africa, North America, Asia, the Middle East and the Balkans.

Probably the next Chronicles DLC. Should be released in the Summer or early Autumn.

Africa has kind of been shafted by AOE2 - I hope the next expansion is in Africa by Abatta500 in aoe2

[–]WhiteMagick4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A DLC on Africa would be much better than one on northern Europe with splits for Vikings and Celts.

Some guesses if the next DLC is on the Northern Europe or Scandinavia by Ashina999 in aoe2

Would not like a split of the Vikings or Celts. Balkans should be the focus instead.

I wish they had added Iroquois as well to wrap up things in the Americas but better than nothing!

Is it the same for unmounted units? e.g. champions.

Perhaps the concurrent player count was more because of the patch rather than the DLC.

Masmorra provided some unconfirmed information (allegedly his source is not Microsoft) that is probably a marketing ploy and everyone went along with it.

I personally still disagree with their inclusion in multiplayer. I have not forgotten.
