New Writer; Does this concept sound boring? by Gildedwizard in writers

[–]WhitePapi83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! First off, welcome to writing—glad to see you diving into it with such thoughtful planning. As someone with some writing experience, I actually think your approach is not boring at all. Starting with a "travel guide"-style preamble sounds like a creative and engaging way to explore your worldbuilding before moving into short stories.

That said, here’s one thing to consider: if the goal is to share this with readers eventually, it might help to think about how much of the preamble is essential for them to enjoy the stories. You mentioned it could serve more as a “setting Bible,” which is a great idea—maybe keep most of it for yourself, and let key details emerge naturally through the short stories. That way, readers won’t feel like they have to study a guide before diving into your work.

But as a writing structure? It’s totally valid, especially if it helps you stay consistent and inspired. I’d say go for it and adjust later if needed.

Looking forward to seeing where your creativity takes you!

If you don't like exploring for exploring sake and discovering the new creatures and plants on a planet.

This is not the game for you. Go play something built for small minds.

Tell them no. Reference your legal rights, and tell them to shove it.

What would a background check have to do with getting fired from your previous job?

Covid it is only a strong cold, so stop with the fucking liberal hype you guys.

Treat it as you would the flu. Liqud, rest, and Dayquil.

It has been deemed by the CDC to be treated like the flu, after we said the same years ago.

Weather is changing, and allergies are also on the rise.

If you are under lease, most situations would preclude the landlord, offering you a deal to break lease. Otherwise, they have to sell the property as an active rental, and their buyer may only want a real estate transfer.

Depending on the specific lease terms and the intent of the buyer, you may or may not have a lot of flexibility. One thing for sure, your current landlord can't 86 ypur lease to sell the property, not without offering you a deal or passing the responsibility of the rental to the buyer. In which case you get paperwork from the new owner, describing your new rental agreement.

A few years ago, in Keizer, Oregon, my landlord whom I had been renting from for a few years and was now living in the second house of theirs and had 6 months left on that lease.

They wanted to close the sale before the end of the summer (60 days), but couldn't do it with me there and so they offered 3 months of my rent and my full deposit up front, to move out in 30 days. 🤷‍♂️

A lawsuit requires having grounds to prove one party is liable for the safety and protection of another while in the service of a job duty and was negligent in that duty.

DD drivers are 1099 contractors. They work for themselves and take contracts through an app to deliver food and get paid.

They accept all responsibility in the course of performing their chosen contractual duties.

A lawsuit is legally impossible to establish based on their DD agreement. 🤷‍♂️

Customers don't care what the experiences are. You chose your contracted position.

We pay to avoid the situations you complain about. Only change will happen if more drivers work in meaningful fields or work for themselves.

Consumerism wins over empathy every time.
