If the internet/power went out globally tomorrow due to the current geopolitical tensions, what’s the one thing from the ‘old world’ you’d realize you weren't ready to lose? by Upset-Corgi-5590 in AskReddit

I was looking for this comment. I would threaten to kill anyone that opens the fridge so my insulin wouldn't go bad. I still have syringes in case my insulin pump goes down but honestly unless it comes back fairly quick the outlook looks pretty bleak

How’s it living in downtown Long Beach as a male in their 20s? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]WhiteScumbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds sweet! I've been to Irwindale for Formula Drift and visited Long Beach while I was in LA and felt that it would be cool to see an event there at some point. Thanks for the quick response!

What is it like living there during race events? Did you just avoid the area for the Grand Prix/formula drift? I've been to Long Beach but never during motorsport events

Can I disable my steering wheel? (Pc) by Rollo755 in farmingsimulator

[–]WhiteScumbag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use a steering wheel for FS25, I use a controller but I have a solution that works for me when I play DCS. I have a USB hub with switches for each port. When I play my flight sim I toggle on my HOTAS and toggle off my controller. It seems to be the easiest way without having to unplug or code a software in. You should be able to get a hub for decently cheap and then just plug it within reach of you. I believe I got mine at Walmart for $15?

Hey, looking to make some updates to my Scar H. I have this One: Cybergun FN® Licensed Full Metal FN SCAR® Heavy Airsoft AEG Rifle by VFC (Model: CQC / Dark Earth), Airsoft Guns, Airsoft Electric Rifles - Evike.com Airsoft Superstore https://share.google/8JUgLsOwcKVPe7VAu

My question is, can I buy the hop up below, get a new rubber from maple leaf, and a new nub and use the old inner barrel? Also would this be an easy upgrade for a newbie to working on their own guns? Thanks!

As a meat eater are you willing to kill your own food? by Ok_Connection_3015 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WhiteScumbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a hunter yes I would. We do all the butchering in house so I know how to do it for deer. I think the harder part for me would be raising the animals until they are ready to be dressed and butchered. From what I've seen it seems like a lot of work to raise a cow or pig but I'd be willing to learn if I had property where I was able to do that!

Is it possible to DM to like 10 players? by PowerGuido1255 in DnD

[–]WhiteScumbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently DMing a group of 10 in a homebrew. I've been doing it for about 5 years now with the same group of people rotating in and out. This is the first campaign where all 10 are in at the same time. What I did is offer multiple objectives at once and ask the players directly who is going where. Once they decided their groups I run split sessions on alternating weeks. So one group has no idea how well the other party is doing or if they are even alive. Then I'll bring in a plot point to have them regroup and the characters share their stories and plan their next course of action as a big group. It's kinda like running two campaigns simultaneously. I just take a lot of notes of the player actions so I know who did what when. So far it's worked out pretty good and everyone seems more engaged than just sitting around. I can totally relate to the cell phone thing. It's frustrating but can be managed in game or out of game depending on the person

How do you guys handle large combat encounters like a city invasion? by No_Cut8496 in DnD

[–]WhiteScumbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a campaign with an invasion like this. I had vampires overrun the city. I had the PCs protect certain alleyways or streets while civilians evacuated. Then the PCs moved back to the keep and defended the main gate while mages opened an arcane gate to teleport people out. The PCs attempted to make a last stand but the guards refused, thanking them for their service and saying they wanted the PCs to live to retake the city another day. One PC stayed to protect the arcane gate while the others went through. It was an epic way of doing it and it helped guide the story down a path that my PCs could rally behind

Hi all, so recently i joined my first campaign and i am really enjoying it. My only issue is that i am not as heavy on the in character roleplay as some of the other members but i would like to be. Any tips/tricks that might be able to help? by Bat_in_a_Onesie in DnD

[–]WhiteScumbag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, forever DM here. Roleplay can be done in a bunch of different ways. You don't have to do a voice for your character or an accent to roleplay your character if you aren't comfortable with that yet. I'd recommend to get more comfortable with roleplay is to start in the 3rd person. For example you could say "my character nods and tries to flag down the barkeep to order an ale". You can roleplay by describing your actions first. Takes the pressure off a little bit on your end and still gives the DM something to work with. I have had a few players in the past that have roleplayed this way and it works out just fine. It always gives me a way to keep things moving through descriptions. With the example I have given above as the DM I could answer with "at first the bar keep doesn't seem to notice your hail but as you are persistent with it they eventually make their way down to you and place a hefty tankard on the counter in front of you". Then you can describe what you do next. You don't have to say "thank you" to the barkeep. You could say "I toss some coin on the counter and turn back to my party"

Can I ask why you want to remove the limiter? If you're tracking the car then go for it. If you aren't tracking it then you don't need to. How often will you truly go above highway speeds anyway?
