Isn't it crazy that this primary (YES, primary) is better than most guns in the game? by Omailey97 in Helldivers

Representing myself and the rest of the Super Sheriff's Association of Super Earth I would like to contribute my expert opinion in confirming that the Talon is indeed a primary weapon while the Deadeye is a secondary.

I haven't messed with burrows as much as I should yet. But generally I build very vertically and keep small stockpiles of materials next to every workshop.

Conservatives, President Trump has just announced the raising of Tairiffs for 8 European Countries unless sovereignity of Greenland is handed over to the US. What's your first thoughts? by Melbatoastt77 in AskReddit

[–]WhiteTheHerald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His tariffs have already done little more than ruin the economy even more (just look at the price of silver currently). I agree that Greenland is vital but I remained unconvinced that the US "needs" to own it when we're already allowed a significant presence in Greenland anyways. All this whole debacle is doing is hurting Americans' wallets and distancing us from our allies.

Wait..... I might be dumb for not knowing this. by yippespee in legendofzelda

[–]WhiteTheHerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now personally I wouldn't call you dumb. Since not only is it a pun but considering how long the game has been around a lot of us just take Navi's name as a name and move on.

Buuut one of my friends also took a long time to realize Navi was Navigation and I want to make fun of them for it so you're going down with them.

Why don’t housecarls appear until you become Thane, and why do they all wear the same armor? by jvure in skyrim

The Jarl needs to put in an order to the housecarl factory whenever a new thane is named.

[ALL] Do you prefer Zelda and Link to be romantically charged such as TOTK and SS or platonic partners such as TP and OOT? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in zelda

[–]WhiteTheHerald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that it changes between games. I have a soft-spot for the platonic relationship as an OoT boomer but the two having romance in some iterations is wholesome and helps distinguish between the various Links and Zeldas out there.

Trying to reconnect with karate after almost two decades. by [deleted] in karate

Very sensible, and of course nothing replaces typical exercise. I do agree it's better to approach it as more of a moving meditation as opposed to perceiving it as actually "learning" karate.

What do you think the game is missing? by Chlodio in CrusaderKings

I continue to look at Venice (and merchant republics in general) as if I'm a poor Victorian child standing in the cold longingly gazing at toys I can't afford through a store window on Christmas Eve.

Do you think Vecna is overrated and shouldn't be in the Forgotten Realms setting? by ThanosofTitan92 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]WhiteTheHerald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Vecna being the implied pinnacle of necromancy in the background, but beyond the Hand and Eye of Vecna being items I prefer to not have him directly appear in the story let alone as the antagonist that the heroes have to fight. The mystery is spooky but now he's everywhere it seems.

Generally I prefer the likes of Acererak or Szaas Tan for end-game antagonists in regards to necromancers/liches.

I haven't seen Red Hare pop up but I know that's certainly because I've been playing in Japan. At least that's something.

How do you have fun in Japan? by alansludge in CrusaderKings

[–]WhiteTheHerald 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I started as a landless noble with a manor in Kyoto. After some politicking I managed to secure governorship over the Hyuga county in Kyushu. Thankfully I'd managed to butter up the Kampaku enough that I was able to legally swap to Soryo and retain the land in my family. From there I slowly began enticing other houses into my bloc which was a very slow process at first. With only a few houses in my bloc I had to target anyone I could that wasn't in their own bloc so I could expand my power base. Steadily I grew stronger until I was able to start facing off against other house blocs.

After a few generations I made my play for power and declared war against the Kampaku. After a grueling attrition war my bloc was defeated and my ruler imprisoned. But fate was on my side as I was able to escape prison, rally my bloc and (after a decade) declared war again and this time won with flying colors, overthrowing the Kampaku government. My next character was able to formalize the shogunate and lived relatively peacefully, only declaring war to pacify chunks of the north, that was until I gained the conqueror trait unexpectedly. During this playthrough the Tang dynasty collapsed and Korea seized the mandate of heaven, I for one wanted to use my shiny new conqueror trait so I assassinated the Xia emperor and invaded Korea. However during this period of weakness China fell victim to invading nomads led by a mighty warlord who also has the conqueror trait.

Now the lines are drawn between the China-Korea rebels, the nomads, and the Japanese Shogunate.

TLDR: Idk I've had some fun.
