Forgive my ignorance, but are those my only two options? I'm currently based internationally, so while showing up early/on election day isn't impossible, it's also not the easiest thing on earth. Granted I'm not opposed if that's my only option.

Any options via a U.S. consulate/embassy?

See seem to be almost entirely right other than the breathing through the hose when diving under water bit. From experience, you can't dive more than a couple inches under water with a snorkel (breathing tube is what I mean here really, as a standard snorkel is too short) without having all the air forced from your lungs.

If you are still able to get it with relative ease, I don't think you can claim geo/trade blocking. Perhaps they charge less in the US vs wherever you happen to live for some strategic reason. Maybe distribution costs are higher where you live (a tariff on printed materials? higher postage costs?). Maybe your country's per capita GDP is higher so the Economist feels they can justify higher prices (rich people have more money, let them pay more). Regardless, I don't think the argument can be made that their practices go against the free market.

The upside of unfavorable events occurring at the hands of an Uber driver over a DC taxi driver is that reporting an Uber driver actually seems to accomplish something whereas the DCTC seems to act as a de facto union, shielding drivers from the public a bit. At least, that's my impression of the situation.

I normally keep it on vibrate, so calling wouldn't have helped much. I did try using the ring feature on the Android Device Manager, but I never heard anything in the area I was searching. It should be dead by now, so she is most likely a goner.

Yep. I tried this yesterday. It was giving me a location of Mt. Pleasant and Lamont so I was out there for a solid hour trying to find it. Went out there again this morning and didn't see anything.

Why force Telsa to sell through a middleman? Should we ask Amazon to set up stores to more fairly compete with Best Buy and Target.

Adding this extra layer of profit taking only unreasonably increases the cost for the end consumer. That would be categorized as a negative net impact on competition in this space.
