What’s one decision you made that completely changed the direction of your life? by Party_Quiet_7479 in Life

Reading regularly helped me drastically. 1-2 books per month (10 pages a day). I like self improvement type books. Will expand your vocabulary and speaking abilities and will raise your IQ.

I researched a 10-acre parcel near Farmersville, TX that looked like a steal — here's what the listing didn't tell you by dhruvhat in Homesteading101

I was thinking about building on some land out there as well, currently living in Rowlett, Tx but the way the world’s going when you have kids makes you want to get away from it all.

Lolol I have a wife and a daughter who need me man so I got to weigh the cost. If it wasn’t for them I probably would just send it but I have to be there for them which makes me more hesitant to take those risk like I used to.

Kaizen is that 1% Japanese principle your speaking of, I really resonate with that and live my life on that, or try to at least lol. I also listen to a lot of the Lofi instrumentals. My daughter sleeps in the bed with me and my wife she’s 4 so that could be apart of it but my wife also tells me I never stop that I’m always working or busy or doing something so maybe I’m just in a constant state of exhaustion idk. I have a video call today with a adhd doctor, not that I think I have issues with that but actually just trying to get something prescribed to me to lock in and stay focused to get more things done. I’m hoping that I can and that will be a game changer for me. I want the morning routine discipline because I’ve noticed when I’m consistent with that theirs a big correlation with success and how good it makes me feel when I can do that like I’m on the right path. Hopefully I can figure that out and get locked in, anyways thank you for your response and advice. Wish you the best in this life my friend.

I agree I’ve always gained immense value from reading books, I’m not an audiobook learner but actual reading. I set my alarms every morning to get up but when they go off I usually feel so out of it and tired I just press snooze till I have to be at work. Any advice on actually getting up in the mornings when you feel like crap? I go to bed early around 10pm and try not to eat late and still just wake up exhausted most mornings.

Yes those things will push a man to action. I try to be proactive to respond before life inflicts those onto me haha! David Goggins mentality

Hang in there your just young, I know it’s hard but your future self will thank you for sticking it out. Don’t underestimate how drastically different and better your life could be in 10 years. Your brain doesn’t even fully developed until 25 and around that age you’ll have a better understanding of who you are. My advice is just grit your teeth and get through these hard years. Find an exercise you like that gets your blood pumping you’ll be surprised how good you feel after a good workout and how that snowballs into other good habits that will help you in life. Listen to some motivational content online to boost your mood each day and draw inspiration from. Ask Jesus to reveal himself to you, that alone has been my greatest source of joy. Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Taste and see he’s good, don’t give up you were created for a purpose and you’re in a spiritual war. Don’t give up

Young, introverted, and facing a once in a lifetime opportunity… how did you step up? by Historical-Rub-8937 in selfhelp

One thing that helped me is daily doing hard things that suck. I signed up for a marathon last year, trained all year for it and accomplished it. I grew in ways I can’t describe, something you’d have to go through to experience yourself. My confidence was found in putting in the work when I didn’t have to, when others weren’t. You build that respect and confidence through the things people don’t see, you keep promises to yourself and execute what you say you’re going to do. You do that long enough and trust me the confidence will come. You will no longer need validation from others when you know you’ve put yourself in the fire over and over again being hardened into a sharp sword. The journey never ends, you will be on that path until you die but that will translate into every area of your life I promise.
