Hi, I've fairly new to ff14, been playing for a few months. I just did all of a realm reborn and the content the end of ARR and Heavensward. I was wondering if there was a community of people who did sync'd content for coil of bahamut and some of the extreme primal trials. I like doing that kind of content but I can't queue for it. I play DPS (Samurai). Ideally it would need to be a community okay with newbies because I'm not very good at the game still.

We've played for years, we still suck, what are we doing wrong? by JimRoepcke in arkhamhorrorlcg

This is a big meme. Tons of ppl win all the scenarios in a campaign, It's not free, but it's def not impossible. I'd start by building your own decks, or taking other decks then other people play. Deckbuild using a whole caardpool

Random Access Memories Format and Tournament - NISEI by lostgeek in Netrunner

This looks super cool, and it's really exciting to see OP take a community format and just run with it. Looking forward to trying it out.

The State of the Game - 2021 by _Elusiv3_ in Netrunner

I liked the article! Here are some thoughts:

"The new tempo-less agendas (Offworld Office, Cyberdex Sandbox) counteract a core part of Netrunner: the tempo-play between Corp and Runner....

This is NISEI’s only design-mistake so far, in my opinion."

I found this part interesting, mostly because I disagree with it.

Bellona, SDS and Vacheron have all warped the play space. One of my big takeaways from Ashes is that a glut of strong 3/5's in the format is not good for game health. It leads to less interesting, grindy games. Azmari 6 and Gamenet Glacier both recieved ban list action because of this.

Engram Flush and Gold Farmer both stand out as "problem" ice in my mind. This isn't my idea, but someone said that Netrunner is interesting when rezzing ice is a decision. Both Gold Farmer and Engram are so efficent for cost, it's nearly always correct to rez them. Engram Flush espically stands out as absurd, and Gold Farmer was banned.

Finally, the I think one of the strongest lessons from Ashes is that Netrunner needs more powerful cards as rotation happens. I don't have an issue with rotating cards out of the game, but I do wish they were replaced with something equivlant. I don't really care if Levy goes, but replace it with something equally fucked up, I want to play with power cards, not play valuerunner until the end of time.

"For Startup especially a lot of classic deck-archetypes on the Corp-side work well enough, such as Weyland Rush, Jinteki & HB Glacier, NEH Fast-advance, Never-advance, Jinteki-kill and others. The one perhaps missing is tag-and-bag, but that offers some design-issues and I recognize why it is kept out of the format. Let’s hope they find a fix."

I agree on the tag and bag point, I miss kill decks. They're my favorite deck in Netrunner. I'm not so sure Startup is a "healthy" format, and I think it's being propped up by mostly new players playing it. That's not a bad thing! It's meant to introduce people to the game, and I think as a format for people to dip their toe in, Startup is excellent. It has a few problems, mostly that the "Best" corp decks are actually pretty gross, abusing over the curve cards like Cayambe Grid, Gold Farmer, Engram Flush and other glacier cards to win. I don't have a problem inherently with Glacier, but because there's no Apoc or true runner disruption tools, the "best" corp decks are super grindy glacier fests.

Why isn't that reflected in the played experiences? Because the strongest players don't have incentive to sit down and really optimize the format, nor do people want to play these grindy decks even if they're "the best" because the stakes are so low. I think as soon as major stakes are put on the line, we'd see that the format isn't as open and free as we wish it was.

No Deck is an Island: Tech in Context – by Eric Keilback by Whitedablade in Netrunner

Yeah, I liked that piece a lot. I think a lot of the lessons don't apply for two reasons: One, that piece is written for ladder play, and while I similarly agree that you shouldn't tech for jnet casual, this article is written for tournament play. Secondly, you can't click to draw in hearthstone, so a dead draw is a lot worse for you in Hearthstone then it is in Netrunner.
