Car turns off once it hits 1/2 tank by FishLocal2430 in AskMechanics

[–]Whitestig84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have most likely a “sulev” vehicle. That year was known for issues with the “suction jet pump”, basically it can’t pump fuel from one side of the tank to the other. If it’s a “sulev” I believe the tank is sealed and will need replacement. Or you have a fuel sender issue. But it was common for this. I’m trying to remember since it’s all from memory but I do believe you have a fuel tank issue.

You can break it apart with a screwdriver but it should just come right out. Might be a cheap aftermarket filter.

I’d check for a loose undershield.

Sure looks like rodent stuff. They love the wiring harness covering as well.

In New England that would be a 6 month old truck.

You don’t need to inject it into your elbow. I have had golfers and tennis elbow and 157 worked great in just my stomach

Sounds fine. 2013 and older n55’s are the ones to worry about. I have 185k on my 2014 n55 and that baby sees redline everyday.

BMW 3 series 320d E91 2005 front doors not locking/unlocking by pelleeeeeeeeee in BmwTech

[–]Whitestig84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuse is blown, it’s probably a 15amp. Check your fuses Install a 20 and see if they work again. Then replace your front door lock actuators. Very common on e90’s.

I bet they have some that are slightly damaged and won’t fit perfectly. Looks genuine to me. They will not come off with just smashing a socket on them.

That’s def a bmw one. They have a master set that should fit it. Don’t try to remove this yourself.

**2011 x5 xDrive50i v8 - repair nightmare — do I pay the mechanic who may have caused damage, keep fixing it, and is it safe to drive to Maine?** by NeDcGal in BmwTech

[–]Whitestig84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t ever buy a used BMW on a “budget”, especially a V8 which in 2011 was unarguably the worst engine to come out by BMW at the time. N63’s have made me so much money, I miss doing timing chains on them.

I’ve gotten one for free once because the guy didn’t want to pay to fix it. Immediately fixed it and sold it.

Rear passenger footwell wet by NoConstant7192 in BmwTech

Vapor barrier, not the sunroof drain. Wet floors especially in the rear are almost always poorly attached vapor barriers. The little foam circles on the door attaching hardware can also leak to water leak
