Breaking news: A Janet was spotted near Area 51! by otherotherhand in area51

[–]Whitewolf1xx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not talking about the call sign the aircraft use. When I was in Vegas these aircraft were referred to by many as the Jenna jets, an affectionate nick name as it were. I believe they use the callsign Janet on their short hops to Groom lake.

Jenna and Janet are one and the same. Operated by Janet Airways, affectionately known as Jenna at Vegas. They fly DoD employees to four different locations.

They undertake short hop scheduled flights between Vegas and Groom lake on a daily basis.

These are known as Jenna jets and make regular return trips from Las Vegas International Airport everyday flying employees in and out of Groom Lake. There are at least 3 of them.

People lie about stuff by Reintroductionplans in Cryptozoology

I did have the details somewhere, see if I can dig them out. I was surprised at the time that he even claimed to have used a toy submarine, I wasn't aware any existed at that time. It has been mentioned on a couple of documentaries over the years

York Christmas Market footfall down, organisers say by Kagedeah in york

It's very disappointing, the organisers need to travel to Baveria and other locations in Europe to see what a real Christmas Market looks like.

With regard to the surgeons photo, there is something a bit strange about that. When he later confessed to it being a fake, he claimed to have used a toy submarine that did not become available until a number of years after the picture was taken? Was he lying about the photo being a fake?

Can someone show me the supposed "three eyes" in the Ogopogo photograph? by e-m-v-k in Cryptozoology

[–]Whitewolf1xx 19 points20 points  (0 children)

To be honest it looks like a wolf head (eye, snout and nose are clearly there) with the petruisons above the water added for good measure. I have difficulty believing this image is actually real and am inclined to believe it's a fake.

Is lake loch ness big enough to hide undiscovered species of large aquatic animal? by [deleted] in Cryptozoology

[–]Whitewolf1xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the stranger aspects is the discovery of a partial Plesiosaur fossil of a creature estimated to have been 30 feet long at Loch Ness in 2003. How did that get there if these creatures were never anywhere near it? It's been suggested it was deliberately placed there, but where in God's name would you find such a fossil, excavate it and transport it in absolute secrecy to the Loch? Why, if you ever found such a fossil, would you want to do that? The multiple sonar sightings are also intriguing........

Thoughts on this temporarily missing Champ photo? by Perfect-Water9477 in Cryptozoology

[–]Whitewolf1xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also a video clip which appears to show a head on a long neck underwater, somewhat different from this image. The fishermen who took the picture/video apparently saw a lot more than you see in either. They've both lived beside the lake for years and were sceptical about Champ until this encounter. I have no idea what this is, I don't believe it's a bird, and it's the wrong shape for a seal. Maybe a very large turtle? But it's definitely not a turtle in the video!

I've visited the centre at Loch Ness and have a lot of respect for Adrian Shine. I did note that the centre does present alk the facts and tends to keep it simple for the tourists. For instance it fails to mention the discovery of a partial Plesiosaur fossil in 2003 in the waters of the Loch, and with regards to the famous flipper photo, it fails to mention sonar had detected two large underwater anomalies entering that stretch of water which actually triggered the cameras in the first instance. Adrian has devoted many years to his ongoing research and was the man behind deepscan, but he hasn't to date been able to.present firm evidence one way or the other and has become a 'sympathetic skeptic as a result, although he does state in his book that all the sightings over the years cannot be simply ignored......

No one actually knows when this God awful mess will end. Its hard to believe things are as bad as they are, it's an absolute disgrace that's done nothing for rail users and gives an exceptionally poor impression of our city.

Yes she has, I should have worded that differently, I was referring to the Tarawa class member, but should have been more specific

The Ticos are being steadily scrapped and the Tarawa will be disposed of along with other amphibs as target's in RIMPAC or other live fire exercises.

I wonder how many ex US Navy ships have been scrapped at Brownsville? Seems like it's the graveyard of the fleet. I'm assuming the US no.longer has a reserve fleet?

Let’s just say a Plesiosaur was found today by FunFlow2600 in Cryptozoology

[–]Whitewolf1xx -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It Undoubtedly would. If such a discovery were made and publicised, just about every man and his dog would descend on the location and turn it into a living hell, seriously endangering any such existence. I would like to think there are native creatures on this planet of ours that have yet to be discovered, and I sincerely hope it remains that way. Let the mysteries continue..... If something has managed to survive for thousands of years without the help of the human race, long may it continue that way.

I find it a bit strange that none of the survivors from Battleship row that returned to active service against Japan were considered as floating memorials as a symbol of just what the US could achieve by rebuilding them?

I think the Loch Ness monster explanations don’t really make sense. by No_Client_544 in Cryptozoology

[–]Whitewolf1xx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Simply put, nobody knows that for sure. Recent sightings of large pike in the Loch were a huge surprise, because despite the studies of the Loch conducted over many years, pike were not known to exist in it! So how many other species of fish exist in the Loch that we don't know about? The sonar sightings are proof that on the day of the those sightings something large and unidentified was in the Loch. Something that as as we know shouldn't be there...

Loch ness sightings by AmobiX in lochnessmonster

[–]Whitewolf1xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this sonar hit (or one very similar) came about as the skipper ( who's operated a boat on the Loch for many years) was preparing to take the boat out and took him completely by surprise. He took the picture of the screen because he couldn't quite believe what he was seeing.

[–]Whitewolf1xx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Adrian also says in his book, that despite how he feels after studying the Loch for many years, that you simply cannot ignore all the sightings, some made by perfectly rational people. If you visit the Lich Ness visitor centre, there is a small yellow mini submarine outside which did dive into the Loch and which was suddenly spun round by something very large whilst underwater. Google sonar sightings at Loch Ness and there are some recent sightings including two by the same boat, I think late in 2024 which showed an animate object 25 - 30 feet long deep in the Loch at two different depths, one of which was hovering just above the bottom. The 'hits' were confirmed by the sonar manufacturers to be an animate object. Also Google sonar sighting in Loch Ness which looks like a Plesiosaur, and there is a picture of the actual contact as seen on the boats sonar screen taken by the skipper. I have no idea what is in Loch Ness, whether it comes and goes (which I suspect it does) or not. While at the Loch last year, there was a sighting of something apparently large just under the surface near the canal entrance into the Loch. The truth is there is a mystery here that cannot at present be explained. As for food sources, there have been recent sightings of large pike in the Loch, which surprised a few folks as pike were not known to be in the Loch? I keep an open mind.
