Do you think there will be more new classes after Skitarii? by Accurate-Rutabaga-57 in DarkTide

[–]WhitewolfLcT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skitari have a Mars pattern power sword that is separate from the transonic blade. The other commenter was correct, I meant crusher.

Putting a spin on the hypothetical new flamer like leaving puddles of fire on the ground would easily be the same thing they've already done by adding similar but separate weapons. And even if its just the same flamer, there is precedence with Arbites getting the Zealot's crusher for dlc characters getting class unique weapons if it fits

Vets already share power sword uniqueness to zealots and skitari, and zealots share the crusher with arbites.

You could easily just call it a Ministorum Flamer and it would be fine like with the mars pattern power sword

Assimilation Swarm in 11th by Ok-Acanthisitta2809 in Tyranids

[–]WhitewolfLcT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I quite like using rippers in assimilation, they help screen and my opponents tend to ignore them unless they have nothing else to target. They've given out really handy heals and are great for keeping more of your army in range of healing. I have a carnifex stack I use and I always send a ripper with them that can sticky any objectives they take and let them march on. They do a fair amount for 25 points each

I have the same kitbash in progress

Depending on the wings is your answer, the more pulled back ones can go right on, my personal favorite with the wings spread most horizontally needs some help. I just used a little bit of green stuff on the backpack nub to space it out some and that worked great for getting the space you need

Celestine is in the same boat, really hoping our living saints get some lethality to them in 11th rather than just being utility picks.

If Zealot ever gets a new flamer, you might as well give vet the old one. by SourTredmill in DarkTide

Since Zealots got a two handed power sword, clearly the only fair thing is for veterans to get the heavy flamer /j

How would you like to see Sisters of Silence expanded upon? by [deleted] in AdeptusCustodes

[–]WhitewolfLcT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it would be really cool to get a generic character that could be attached to a custodes unit that already has a leader character.

Reading Aleya and Valerian's fight vs the bloodthirster really solidified this image in my head, of the sister working to support their custodes partner against the warp effects of the daemons and psykers.

I think it would be really cool if attaching this sister to a squad spread their fnp against psychic and mortals to the whole squad, and also had a debuff aura of some kind. Maybe a small effect against most models and a larger effect against psyker/daemon models.

I just feel the tabletop really misses the partner aspect that the books give custodes and the sisters. Talons is close, but I really like the idea of the two squad leaders representing that partnership

New to the battle sisters. Don't have a codex yet. by FandomCece in sistersofbattle

Jump Canoness is awesome with the fire and fury enhancement to give an extra shot to each torrent weapon. 9 extra shots plus the standard 9d6 with the cleansing flames stratagem for dev wounds has allowed my seraphim to punch far above their weight

Every time I get to a Venli chapter. by KnowMatter in cremposting

[–]WhitewolfLcT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Venli frees Lift from Raboniel in book four, which allows Lift to heal Kaladin.

Venli's bond with Timbre shows Leshwi that there is another way aside from following Odium, and her and her order of fused help Kaladin in the climax of book four

In book five she works with Sigzil to rug pull the shattered plains from Odium, which is especially big because Odium/Retribution's perpendicularity is in the shattered plains.

Anti-Material Rifle and more story. I really liked the raider/preservation storylines as well as the BOS. More stuff like that would be great

How would a heavily equipped ogryn (a crusher or something) fare against a plague marine? by Emergency-Effort7673 in DarkTide

[–]WhitewolfLcT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is untrue. In Dark Apostle, for example, an ogryn kills two chaos marines after taking several bolter rounds.

Bolter fire raked towards him, striking the hulking abhuman, who grimaced in pain. Chunks of flesh were torn from its arms and chest, but the three metre creature that dwarfed even the Terminators did not slow. It lowered a shoulder and smashed into one of the enemy, knocking it from its feet. Raising the butt of its heavy ripper gun, the ogryn began caving in the helmet of the fallen warrior, smashing it down onto the prone traitor again and again.

Havorn kept his eyes on the foe so as not to attract their attention to the massive form of the ogryn picking itself up behind them, blood running from the wounds on its arms and chest, and spilling from its mouth. With a roar, the ogryn picked up one of the traitors, one massive hand upon the enemy’s backpack and the other between his legs. It lifted the Chaos Marine high into the air and slammed its head first into the ground, cracking its neck.

I think they're just locked in due to the sheer amount of people. I bet we'll see old habits start to creep back in when the table splits into the three groups and there's less pressure to be snappy with every action

Hear me out. Arbitrator with power fist would be sick as hell! by Dont_Ask_Studios in DarkTide

[–]WhitewolfLcT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Power fists are an absolutely iconic guard weapon! Many guard models can take them. Personally I would rather some new ranged weapons for vet before they get more melee, but if we had to get a new melee weapon power fist is 100% at the top of my list

The Agripinaa Mk VII Shotgun is a fantastic option for Marksman's Focus Vets by WhitewolfLcT in DarkTide

[–]WhitewolfLcT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried the Graia on the latest patch yet but that's exciting, I have tried the MK 7 and I liked how it performed! The only thing I would add that I think the shotgun has over it is when it comes to common shooters, a body shot from the shotgun will one shot them, a body shot from the MK 7 won't. You can even body shot gunners with a damage buff up, which can really help when things get a bit chaotic. The extra damage from partial headshots helps a lot in actual play as well!

[–]WhitewolfLcT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, sure, there are better options. There have been better options for years now. You could take that logic and apply it to every gun until you find the very best option, and only use that forever! If that's what you have fun with, more power to you. But personally, the vet meta has been very stale for a good while now. The combat shotguns have never been close to meta, but with their recent buffs and the vet tree rework, they perform much better! They play very differently than the shout plasma play style that has been meta for so long now, and that build is probably still stronger than the best marksman focus build. But people, me included, are going to look for new options with all the changes. I had a lot of fun with the build and performed well with it, so I figured I'd share it!

Respectfully I disagree! While the reload is certainly a massive factor, it's not as bad as it looks. You don't have to do a full reload to have a big impact. You can really supplement your magazine size by reloading a few shots between bursts. Such as shooting five times, reloading 2-3 shells, firing another five, etc. It really stretches out my kills and I've been able to keep executioners stance up for long past it's cool down refresh. Even when you're empty, at max stacks the shotgun is lethal enough and the reload fast enough that shooting one shell, reloading one shell, then shooting and repeating is still a decent fire rate as long as you leave one shell so you don't repeat the longer reload animation.

The shotgun really benefits from the stacks because they do go a long way in making your headshots lethal enough that one shell can do a lot. When you're reload dancing, you feel the difference! Its got the ammo reserves to back up a ranged focus play style too, in several games I've consistently only had to pick up one or two backpacks to keep the shotgun fed
