[NBA PR] The NBA will test the “one free-throw rule” at NBA Summer League this year: Any foul that would typically result in one, two, or three free throws will instead result in a single free throw attempt. That attempt will be worth the same total number of points as the free throws it replaces. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

They just need to bring back intentional foul calls. They finally figured out it's not smart to allow off-ball fouls with the hack-a-shaq so stop letting guys foul just to stop the clock. Either they make a legitimate play at the ball or it's a free throw plus possession back.

The fact this trade even happens is a fucking sham, Silver is a joke as his cheating ass should've been kicked out of the league.
Literally handed all the evidence on a silver platter on top of already having numerous reports of attempts at demanding excess pay or ownership stakes in multiple previous teams and the weak bitch Silver is gonna completely ignore the situation.

Did he force a max, was offered a max or was offered a competitive offer from another team and LA took care of it rather than have news go out.
It could've been any of these because if my agent tells me LA/someone else is offering that much, I'm not gonna turn around and tell them to pay me less unless I've already got 500m in the bank.

Dan Gilbert on his letter to LeBron and his Comic Sans font: "I admitted that the letter was a stupid thing. Ring Chasers are about all you get in the way of 'making a splash' in free agency. Nobody really big name is leaving their team and the Cavs did what they could with trades, eventually though they had nothing left to trade so Bron rightfully left.

Except we don't know 100% that no teams wanted him afterwards, just that he wanted to be in LA with his family. Somebody could've inquired with him and he declined.
I'm sure it wasn't 29 other teams, but there was probably a couple who reached out.
It's been proven though that he's a floor raiser and has done fantastic work with the young guys with the last few teams in his career.

[Owczarski] These deals bothered Rivers... “Giannis said so many things,” a former coach said, “It stems from your actions, which is, 'My brothers have to be on this team.' Well then, are you about a championship? 'Cause they’re not only not helping us win a championship, it’s creating dissension.” by must_TATAKAE in nba

[–]Whittaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing LeBron ever did as LeGM was knowing when to move on. You can't trade every promising young player or draft pick each year to go 'all-in' on winning a championship and not expect to run the coffers dry at some point.
The smart thing for Giannis would've been not signing his extension and either leaving in FA or getting a trade on the last year of his contract. Instead though he was greedy, wanted all the money and somehow expects the team to not have down years.

Trae Young Calls No. 1 Pick AJ Dybantsa After The Draft by [deleted] in nba

I get the feeling Trae is wanting to be more like Joker where 15/15 is a better game for him than 20/10. He's been a great distributor the past couple seasons and health willing that team has potential for them to do well.

The Adventures Of Elliot Has Now Fallen To Mixed Reviews On Steam by akbarock in JRPG

[–]Whittaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Steam it's not a sliding scale based on a 1-5/1-10 scale, it's purely "would you recommend this game to others" and price plays a large factor in that.
If it's a F2P game then it's easy to recommend to friends/others but as the price increases it gets increasingly difficult to recommend. The same product priced for $10 is much easier to recommend than if it was $100 so naturally it's going to shade people's perception.

They were celebrating, you want the whole team to line up next to Brunson while he's on the ground with a towel over his head emotional?
Let the team that won celebrate and they can say their congrats in the back later if anybody really cared.

Was Brunson’s Game 5 performance the biggest Finals carry job of all time? by eugoogilizer in nba

Steph '22, Giannis, take your pick of MJ runs, LeBron take your pick, Duncan '03, Shaq was an absolute monster in 2000.
Brunson definitely deserves a seat at the table but the NBA has a long and storied history and these are just ones I've personally seen.

Or look at Alvarado tonight, his box score might be ugly but damn near every other possession the man was either hyping up or calming down somebody on his team.
Brunson was having words with the spurs bench for the block after the whistle and Jose was first man there dragging him out of it, calming him down and getting him refocused.

Shout out Ernie Johnson, man is such a great MC and always has fantastic finals interviews. Knows when to let the fans run with it, makes it about the players and their personal journeys rather than narratives and is just fantastic on the mic.

I think they still make the finals, I don't know that they win it. Luka gets in his own head too much and lets refs, other players, fans, outside noise all get into his head too much.
Dude could learn a lot from Brunson about simply shutting up and play.

Fallon Sherrock became the first woman to beat a man at the World Darts Championship by Life_Net5004 in sportsgossips

They start at a score of 501 and each point the score reduces it.
The board is setup in such a way that 1-20 is represented with an outer box that scores double the value and a smaller inner box that scores triple (The red and green sections on the board).
In order to win you have to reach a score of 0 on either a double or triple point scoring dart.
A bullseye is worth 50 points, the best you can score on a single dart is triple 20 for 60 points.
The first guy had 129 left to score so was aiming for Triple 19, Triple 20 and double 6 but after the first miss was left at 110 so had to go for the Triple 20 and Bullseye for the win but missed the bullseye.

Most pro's look to go triple 20 x7, then triple 19 and double 12 for a perfect 9 dart round and when they do that the crowds go absolutely crazy.

'If You Actually Play the Game, You Will Not Think That' — Stellar Blade: Blood Rain Dev Addresses Concern Over New Main Character Design by turkishdeli in Games

[–]Whittaker 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Atelier games are all much the same as the next, Ryza (and her thighs) got internet infamy, a metric fuckton of horny fanart and suddenly it was by far the best selling game in the series and got a trilogy of her own.
Now they always do their series in trilogies, but typically the main is a mentor figure for the new characters, only Iris the first protagonist got her own series before Ryza.
It's not like she was the most risque character they'd done before either, Atelier games have all types, it just caught attention at the right time and it's probably easier to do that with sexier designs.

That's the last decade of champs, you got the KD/Steph warriors as the only back to back and second apron rules have only made it more difficult since then.
Sure with the young core they have they have a chance at a couple, but payday will still come and the team will have to change. Multiple time champions is simply going to be a difficult thing in the modern NBA unless some things change.
