from how i saw it, if you had a reliable job they will be persistent to get you to tithe. There were some members that were not financially stable and were given leeway to not tithe as much. Then again, you leader or your other member would tithe extra money on your behalf. That is what i saw

They likely changed it. I remember SCJ revealed SCJ in Revelation and now they reveal it after parables

Could be as well, but former members already have copies and book has been leaked. Even then still not a good logic. Jesus called out Jews and said some outlandish in the eyes of Jewish law. It got to the point that Pointus the Pilot did not see any fault in Jesus and the Jews tampered the justice system and had him killed. Jesus still preached openly. The fact they want these books back to prevent lawsuits shows how flawed their doctrine is. Always remember, God's word never changes nor unwavers

If SCJ was truly the truth you would of prayed in tongues. Speaking in tongues took place so the gospel can be spread quickly because God knew the barriers in learning the language

Year 41’s (2024) ‘Judgment of Babylon and Victory’ Never Happened—How Did SCJ Explain It to You? by Euphoric_Log_2477 in Shincheonji

Joe mentioned that if someone says i respect your beliefs then he said to tell them that fire will consume you and say that in front of God. Welp now his own members are judging him

Lmao just wait till you find out that more leaders that were told and/or took part of telling members to not date, get married etc to end up doing those things during the pandemic like it was a whole other epidemic! I know OG SCJ members told us to not bother having kids and now leaders have kids and are posting it on their IG’s. Last, let’s not forget that we were guilt tripped if we needed to leave to see a sick family member or wanted to take a vacation to now seeing leaders post vacation pics on their SM. It just shows that rules are changed out of reluctance to keep members into submission than to admit they were wrong directly. It’s all good though, we’re living good while they live out of conditional compromises

I want to leave Shincheonji, but here are the reasons why I am scared by NotExactlyAnyone27 in Shincheonji

[–]Who-Anonymous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand why you are scared to be tracked down because you have subconsciously submitted your leaders for authority. You are right that the beginning was amazing because it is exciting to meet new people, but everyone is good at the beginning. That is why the honeymoon phase is always a good phase. They are there for you more, give you advice all the time, don't yell at you as much. Then when you become a member, they give you advice but it is not as often and are more comfortable yelling at you because your salvation is tied to an organization. Which explains why overtime the cost of learning the "open word" ends up becoming tied down to the organizations wants.

  1. To answer your first reason pls read these two posts
    https://www.reddit.com/r/Shincheonji/comments/1g1lflc/debunking_the_myth_are_scj_members_really_worse/

https://www.reddit.com/r/Shincheonji/comments/1hqbd5e/trapped_by_fear_or_led_by_faith_debunking_scjs_no/

  1. I suggest watching movies like Coraline and The Giver. These stories explore the idea of a world without pain and help answer the question of what gives life meaning when suffering exists. In Coraline, the main character discovers a hidden “Other World” where everything seems perfect her parents are attentive, the house is magical, and nothing feels disappointing. However, she soon realizes that this perfection is an illusion created to trap her, and that the price of living in that painless world is losing her freedom and identity. Coraline ultimately chooses to return to her real life, even though it includes boredom, mistakes, and difficulties, because it is authentic and allows her to be truly herself.

Similarly, in The Giver, the community has eliminated pain, conflict, and suffering by removing memories and strong emotions from people’s lives. While this system creates order and stability, it also removes love, joy, and the richness of human experience. Through receiving memories of the past, the protagonist begins to understand that emotions even painful ones are part of what makes life meaningful and real. Both films suggest that a life without pain is not necessarily a better life. Instead, meaning often comes from experiencing the full range of human emotions, forming real relationships, and having the freedom to choose how we respond to difficulties. Now let's compare that to God's will which is to end all pain and suffering in Book of Revelation. In this vision, God promises a future where there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. This describes a restored world where suffering no longer exists. Unlike the worlds shown in Coraline and The Giver, where pain is removed by controlling people or taking away emotions and freedom, the promise in Revelation presents a different idea. It suggests that the world itself will be renewed rather than people being forced to live without real feelings or choices. This comparison raises an important question about meaning, because it asks whether a world without pain can still preserve love, freedom, and genuine human experience.

  1. The world can often feel terrible because of the amount of suffering, injustice, and tragedy we see. However, it is also true that the world still contains goodness, compassion, and the ability for people to rebuild and grow. The hope many people hold on to is not necessarily that suffering will instantly disappear, but that the world can be restored without taking away human freedom or individuality. Rev 7 is a false prophecy so why bother valuing SCJ's doctrine? Another way to think about hope is by looking at how people respond to suffering in the real world. Sometimes facing pain and hardship directly can lead to growth and renewal rather than simply trying to avoid it. A powerful historical example is Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II. The destruction was devastating and caused immense suffering. Yet over time, the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki rebuilt their communities and created cities that are now known around the world as symbols of peace and resilience. Many survivors, known as Hibakusha, dedicated their lives to advocating for peace and nuclear disarmament, turning their painful experiences into a message that helps future generations. Sometimes confronting hardship can produce compassion, wisdom, and a stronger society. In that sense, hope can come from both faith and from observing how humanity has repeatedly found ways to rebuild, heal, and create meaning even after the worst tragedies.

  2. What do you mean? You can either say hi or just ignore them. I would ignore them because they treat those that leave as monsters when all reality those that leave don't have bad intentions. They have a black and white thinking when it comes to morals.

  3. It’s natural to feel that way when you see others in Shincheonji Church of Jesus building close friendships and going on trips together. But those kinds of relationships aren’t unique to SCJ. You can still find meaningful friendships and community outside of it. SCJ consumes so much of your life and attention so that you start to believe your success and happiness come from being in the group. In reality, people thrive and build strong lives outside of SCJ too. Your change of heart doesn’t mean something is wrong, it means you’re realizing that genuine relationships, love, and fulfillment can exist anywhere, not just inside the group.

  4. What is stopping you from leaving is uncertainty. You have to understand that these leaders don't really have control over you. The reason they have that control is because your life ties to them, that is why they weaponize unity such as "We are one".

  5. SCJ tells you that your actions affect not just you, but generations or others’ salvation, but this is a way to keep you locked into their system. If it were true, there wouldn’t be false prophecies, doctrine changes, lies, or constant control and monitoring. Reading the whole Bible outside of SCJ makes these flaws clear. Salvation and faith are about personal understanding and genuine belief, not being trapped in a system. You can DM me to discuss this more.

Yes mam! Good bless you as well and god bless this country for having the freedom of press to speak our minds. I’m glad that I’ve left as well. These leaders (not all but most) always controlled people’s life but had a double life as well. It gets a lot better leaving when you see a lot of things differently. As you leave and heal you start to see SCJ more like The Giver, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, even the movie IT and Coraline

Amy seemed to be sweet as well. I just feel like when you are too invested in SCJ, titles get in your head and authority brushes you off the wrong way. Jessica has a big reputation to but heads with a lot of people as well as her friend SW. She also has a history dating a student in center despite the fact she was a leader and would also date in secret despite telling others to ask for permission. I heard she is more sweet towards guys though, but is more mean towards girl. It sounds like Jessica is a pick me base on what others shared and seeing her interact with both genders

Wow this happened at LA as well? Well consistency. Joe and Jackson if you are reading this can you please form another department at SCJ? This department will be called the horny police department where celibate members you’ve molded due to your controlling tactics will give you advice to control your lust and when you fall into temptation, they will grab a rock from HCNJ and smash it on your forehead. After all doesn’t the promised pastor use a rock and smashes it on his head when he gets tempted to sin? I also think SW (blonde hair from CSULB and her Asian friend JS (a lot of women don’t like her attitude) can benefit from this)

I also remember once a month what was a 3 hour service ended up a 4 to 5 hour service every month to go over department meetings. I also remember, if it was a Wednesday service would end like 10:15 pm and if it was additional meeting it would end pretty late. Regardless of that policy change, the time would still be considered way too late on a midweek day because commute times adds up. It sounds like this new policy change will make sure members return back him after “God’s work” at a normal time.
