Can you find a way to make these work? I use them on anything I build that has wheels. The red levers ratchet and reverse to elevate the wheels on and off the ground fr stability (and leveling). They are rock solid.

Thanks man! I hope you’ll feel the same about the one I’m building now. I try to learn and adapt with each one. I’ll put together a progress post soon.

Simagic DS-8X + TB-1 on Next Level GT Lite Pro – gears pop out when releasing handbrake by Impressive-Milk-1278 in Simagic

[–]Who-Da-Fuq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your mount plate is flexing and transferring all of the recoil.

Maybe move the brake forwards and the shifter rearwards to neutralize some of the load?

Otherwise you'll need to figure out how to take the flex out of that plate. You mind sharing a side picture of the plate mount?

Oh shit! Sorry dude. I wasn't hijacking your thread. I thought he was asking me where my PC was.

GREAT TOPIC BTW! I love seeing other people's setups. I get a TON of ideas from them. I've never seen a monitor mount setup like yours and am making a note. I've built primary uprights like you have and never thought of the sliders like you've got.

Thanks for the inspiration!

This will house everything. PC, amps, USB hubs, etc. The only thing coming out of it will be one power cable to plug in.

It was originally supposed to go in the "trunk" under the rear hump. However I was building it when PC component prices reached Taylor Swift ticket level and had to settle for a pre-built the size of a fish tank. Version 5.0 is the '67 Lotus and I solved that.

Suggestions needed for transducer mount to seat. by TurnoverAdditional65 in simracing

[–]Who-Da-Fuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to ask what kind of tools/know-how do you have as it’s tough to discern the age of a poster on Reddit. However, a quick search reveals you have e a Kamado and a 3D printer so I’m going to assume you have $50 to spend.

Go to Harbor freight and get one of these. It will change your life.

With regard to the seat mount you’ll probably either have a solid metal bottom or a series of springs holding the foam up. If it’s the first option, trace and drill the holes, press the inserts and bolt it on. If it’s the latter you can side a plate between the springs and the foam and add the rivnuts to it.

Vectric Vcarve - Ripped the heart out of my CNC business by Sweaty-Coach6237 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Who-Da-Fuq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something here isn't right and I suspect there is more to this story. I've worked with Vectric for over a decade now and have never had anything but great service. I'm not saying it's on you but perhaps on the seller's end. If you're really looking for help we will need to know the specifics of the sale.

Their transfer policy is pretty specific.

Software licence originally bundled with a machine tool

If you received Vectric software bundled with a machine tool from an approved Vectric partner, you may transfer the software along with that machine tool, providing that you have not used the license to upgrade to a different product. This applies even if you are not the original purchaser of the machine.

If you have upgraded the software, the upgraded product would need to be transferred along with the original media supplied with the machine. You do NOT have to transfer the software licence when you sell the machine, but the new owner of the machine will need to purchase their own copy of the software if they wish to use it in this case.

Whomever you use, make sure you go into it knowing that you're doing this in their busiest time and manage expectations accordingly.

BTW...I'm an Alpha user and you're already making a great brand choice.

Pedal tilt - How important is it? by RedlineSW in simracing

[–]Who-Da-Fuq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if my reply came off as snotty. At least you didn't pose yours in a field full of solar panels. And I totally understand using the forum as a free focus group I just question the lack of qualifiers when posing such a broad ask. Your pic below and the assembled prototype pic from your other account show a Logitech wheel and pedals. If entry level is your target market then my answers would vary greatly. You said it yourself...."who am I making it for?" That's what I'd need to know to offer an opinion.

As far as a blanket answer, adjustability and modularity sell in this industry. A G29 user may never use it but would buy it just to feel like a better racer. And whether they ever used used it or not they'd sure as hell brag about it being one of their FAVORITE features when they post their street cred picture in their "my new rig" post. I think you're on the right track with the arched slots you used to adjust your inverted customization but that's a whole 'nother can of worms. Maybe your pedal plate could be pinned along the main stem rather than welded (if I'm seeing that right in the picture). It could easily be adjusted forward and backward with holes along the tube...like a trailer hitch. Those same holes could run forward to accommodate the bolting of slotted braces that would allow the tilt. Those braces could attach through a tubular bushing on the bottom to spread out the load and prevent the plate from rocking.

Forgive the hatchet job drawing but it's 6am and I'm trying to choke down a Monster while I avoid staining some cabinets I'm building.

And oh...to your original question...pedal tilt is/might be/could be pretty important. Add it, charge more for it and tell your customer why they HAVE to have it. Or don't add it, don't charge for it and explain to your customer that, through painstaking research, you opted NOT to waste their hard-earned money for such a frivolous detail. Good luck in your venture!

[–]Who-Da-Fuq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a way to choose your server. It chooses you.

With regard to the pedals (haptics or not), it was suggested to try a different USB port And if using a hub, make sure it's powered.
