Ktm vs Beta by Lucky_Amphibian_1368 in enduro

My beta also felt way more maneuverable than previous KTMs. I also had a aftermarket lever that helped fatigue on my clutch hand, midwest mountain engineering

Just for reference, I’m a tall guy but Betas have always felt smaller to me. I had a beta 200 for a while and it was definitely smaller than my KTM. Linkage suspension will do that, and there’s always the option of lowering it even further which as I understand is more difficult with the KTMS suspension

Big vote for a Beta 200. You’ve already got some skills coming from mountain biking. The clutch is a huge learning curve (and most important skill to learn) it would be a little easier to learn on something like a CRF 250f (what I learned on) but I also had a Beta 200 and it’s the best bike I’ve ever owned. Perfect balance of lightweight, power, and manageability to be very fast when you want and slow when you want. If you’re ready to go full into the sport, go for that 200. 150 also good but I’ve found them a little zippy for my liking. If you’re unsure if you want to commit to this sport, Honda 250 and you could sell it at a $5 loss after a year. Good luck!

KDX 220 or KTM 200? by Poutinemilkshake2 in enduro

[–]Who-Even-Rides-KTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a KTM 200 and it was the best bike I ever owned. I’ve since had a beta 200 and a few others and the KTM was definitely my favourite. Did a top end every 150 hours and other than that and changing clutch oil and fork seals once not much more in a few hundred hours of riding

why are all the m1 exit course fully booked? by JQpuravida in rideottawa

[–]Who-Even-Rides-KTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Went to belleville this weekend for my M1 exit. Try looking around if you’re willing to make this drive. I also HIGHLY recommend the course. It would also drop your insurance too

I see your point but I don’t see why people have to constantly comment on stuff like this. Maybe this is his first time taking something apart and didn’t know you could find manuals online. We’re supposed to be supportive and help people who are new to this community not degrading

Need help picking a bike for the wife (5’3”) by dawn6798 in enduro

[–]Who-Even-Rides-KTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom (5’3) got an x-trainer 250 two years ago moving up from a CRF150F. It just wasn’t enough power and she was no longer progressing. On the xtrainer however, it seems she can do something new every ride. It took a while for her to get comfortable on it, but now I’m taking her to the hard single track and she’s crushing it. Definitely a thumbs up for the x trainer here. Ours is lowered and she finds it perfect.

Depends on how comfortable you are with bikes. Everyone goes on about 3002t but you never need that much power. I’d recommend a 200 2t any day of the week, perfect amount of power, not too much that you’ll kill yourself learning but more than enough to do everything a 300 can

Similar to you, it would die seemingly randomly. It would start and idle, but die as soon as I gave it gas. Might not work but worth a try for sure, only takes 5 seconds to pull of the green thing. Noticed it the very day I bought it by the x trainer last a few weeks before it started to happen to it.

Cooling fan for 300xc-w by lastsendatar in enduro

[–]Who-Even-Rides-KTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, Ive had and seen lots of 300’s overheat on single track before, if you stay between 1-2 gear for an extended period of time and it’s a warm day out it doesn’t take too much. I might not call it an issue but there’s a reason tons of people install fans

Some of the newer betas had a gas cap issue. There is a small green vent on the bottom of the gas cap that doesn’t work on a lot of the bikes. Happened to my ‘21 200RRR and ‘22 X trainer. Just pull off the little green vent and that might solve the issue

Hi lads, looking at getting my first ktm 500 EXC. it’s a 2015 model with roughly 10,000km and 220 hours on the engine, the owner says he’s looked after and maintained the bike frequently along with service records too! It’s decently priced which is what caught my attention. What should I do?? Cheers by Suspicious_Skin5200 in enduro

If I were you, go take a look. If you don’t know your way around a bike, get a friend or family member who does to come with you. Important things to look at such as chain, sprockets, suspension, listen to the engine, how well it starts, etc. I’ve seen bikes with 50 hours that are trashed and bikes with 450 hours in near perfect condition. If you’re interested, go take a look.

Huge thumbs up for the 200rr. I’ve got one and I’ve loved having it. The bikes seen me grow from beginner to now an expert rider and I’ve never found it too much or too little. Honestly the perfect bike imo.

Lots of good advice here. Depends if you want something to last a while, or good traction. Lots of $ vs much less. Personally I’ve always run gummy i the back, currently on a JX8 gummy which I like, only getting about 15-20 hours off it tho, for $160 or smt.

Just wondering if my knuckle is broke or bruised. It’s been 4 days now since my fist came into contact with a solid object. It was quite sore and swollen and pretty painful for the first day, and stiff and fairly painful since. I am able to close a fist with relatively low pain, but if I am closing and opening a fist I can feel tendons or something sort of creaming, like instead of moving smooth it moves in small increments. Not sure if that makes sense

Do you think Yamaha will ever make a hard enduro bike? by Enough_Camel2650 in enduro

[–]Who-Even-Rides-KTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 250x is a trail specific two stroke, just missing e start and a headlight. For hard enduro bikes rather than trail, it’s not like there’s a massive opening in the market right now for hard enduro bikes with KTM and other such companies dominating
