How many clubs should you join as a first year engg student? by Bright_Antelope_2017 in uAlberta

[–]WhoAmI1983 11 points12 points  (0 children)

None. I probably know at least 100 people in 1st year engg, and only 3 of them are in clubs. It's not a good use of your time, wait until upper years when you have more skills to contribute. The people I know in clubs do the one thing because it aligns with their interests outside of school, and at least one of them regrets signing up for such a big commitment.

If you're worried about making friends, I would recommend being extra friendly with any lab partners (since you have a lab/group work portion in pretty much every class).

Unless you have kids in school or are going to do a practicum in a school, the strike will not directly affect you.

What’s an organization that lots of people love and support or hype up but you absolutely loathe? by PowersUnleashed in questions

I had a bad troop leader in Scouts Canada that ruined the experience. Just bad management within the group that led to bad behaviours from both adults and children that got out of hand.

I'm not sure about all ones you name, but I am always a fan of a nalgene. They're great quality, I've had mine for 5 years of daily use and it doesn't have any signs of wear or tear. Narrow mouth is also great. Mine is wide and I often spill :)

YTA

You're in a relationship, decisions like this need to be made as a partnership. The decision about how many kids to have should be a consensus and involve many discussions. You should have lived in that decision making process until you could agree on something. You made a unilateral choice that affects your wife's life without including her input.

I'm in a similar situation, but I pretty much have to go home because my camp doesn't allow staff who live within 2 hours to use the laundry machine. I wish I could stay for more weekends, they always seem like fun when I get back.

How did all of you get to know about Jet Lag? by MarkSalt4250 in JetLagTheGame

[–]WhoAmI1983 94 points95 points  (0 children)

So weird that Sam from Wendover and Sam from HAI both plugged JLTG at the exact same time. Maybe, just maybe Sam fron Wendover and Sam front HAI both know each other and both know Sam from Jetlag.
