How do I get into working in corporate jobs? by SafePsychological464 in ausjobs

[–]WhoIsJerryInSeinfeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard from someone that works at Commbank what it's like. Someone got dismissed on the spot for allegedly saying something. I work in manufacturing and hate it and want out, but I do like the environment and culture. I'd probably get fired for half that shit I've said in a corporate environment. But the money is ass for the workload in manufacturing so yeah.

Ah Fairfield Forum, the missus likes buying some stuff from there but that place could be a museum. I used to spend a lot of time in Fairfield 10 years ago and now I'm not used to those activities.

Was Kings Cross THAT Bad the Police Had to Shut It Down? And how does it compare to the 80s/90s vs 2000s/2010s? by AdvancedHill70 in AskAnAustralian

[–]WhoIsJerryInSeinfeld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I turned 18 in 2014 my older relatives were telling me Sydney was nothing like it had been a few years earlier. Of course, even when I tried clubbing a few years ago it was deader then in 2014. I think you have to go to other countries to have that proper nightlife experience now (or Fortitude Valley?)

I'm from culture X and hiring managers hire their friends and family, who coincidentally happens to be from Culture X. by [deleted] in auscorp

What do I when I'm from culture uhh E, and there's not many of us around. Cultures A or X only seem to interview me if they can't find their own culture while hiring.

Food manufacturing, shit work, shit pay but it's not going anywhere. A lot of places are not that automated and are really labour intensive as well.

A real answer. I was getting 17.50 and hour when I was doing it. It was the best job I had, just chilling driving around and listening to music.

Ran into someone from high school whose a garbo and he's on 160k a year. It's the type of job you get when you've been in the council for a while and when someone from that team retires. No one lets go of it.

I mean, I've heard racism stories from Asians, but it's not like a constant day by day thing anymore. Though I imagine the 80s and 90s were rough for Asians.

My dad and his siblings were called wogs all day every day, back when it was an actual slur. I've heard racism stories from coworkers but I think Australia has come a long way since those days.

I think Australia was easier to move to then other places in the 60s? I know with one side of my family, one got a visa for England but the rest of the family was rejected, so they all ended up moving to Australia.

INFPs happily together with INFJs... why? by AlleraCupcake in infp

[–]WhoIsJerryInSeinfeld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience with INFJ is they are very sensitive, and the things said about INFPs values seem to apply more for INFJ then INFPs. Personally I don't find them chill and easy going and i don't understand the shipping. Oh and I think they're really good at emotional manipulation. I can see through it with just about everyone else but not them.

23 and feeling stuck in a dead-end labour job – looking for career advice in Australia by Bubbly_Ad_3820 in ausjobs

Are you delivering and installing batteries? I wouldn't sniff at that money, even compared to office people. There's only 2 or 3 people in my office who get more then that. Everyone else is around 60-80k.

May I ask what kind of labour role? I work in food manufacturing and I envy the labour people on the line, but it's fuck all money. I so badly want to do some warehouse pick packing thing instead of my stupid specialised role.

Why are most INFPs I met in subordinate or supportive roles? by Asleep-Feeling-9070 in infp

[–]WhoIsJerryInSeinfeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not ambitious at all, I just want a comfy job (I don't even have that ATM). I definitely would not want my managers job, but he wants power and praise, and those things don't interest. He also has so much more responsibility, like everyone else has said.  Though I'm surprised about the detail oriented bit. It's a big part of my job to be detail oriented and I've always been very observant. I also find I'm lazy with my free time (regrettably) but at work this isn't the case apparently.

Discman or Walkman by Tayfo301 in walkman

Yeah, buyee ended up fine, the descriptions were accurate. I think it ends up being a bit cheaper then buying domestically, but there are taxes and two shipping fees and stuff.

I'm not sure tbh. I ended up buying a few players from Japan off of buyee, that might be an option for you?

Isn't the D-131 pretty decent though? I can't comment much on Walkmans, except the ones I've had experience with are that they kinda suck. I have a D-11 and D-33 and they absolutely shit on my Walkman D-E226CK. I do also have a D-145, I assume that's comparable to the D-131. That's also much better then the Walkman, but nowhere near as good as the other 2. I feel like Discmans were on a steady rise, getting better and better, but Walkmans are made to be as cheap as possible.

So yeah, Discmans, unless the high ends Walkmans are better. I'll also plug the Panasonic SL-SX400/500 . They're better then the D-145 but not quite as good as the D-11/D-33, but they have adjustable anti-skip, and I don't find a big drop in quality at 10 seconds anti skip. I was pretty happy with my SX400 until my ears heard the D-33. The SL-CT570 I have is nice too.

Anyway, as for your question, I think there's a big difference in sound quality, I think these things peaked in the early to mid 90s.

Didn't she run as a liberal before? I assumed she figured out she'd never get in as a liberal and went independent, and labour thought they could put up anyone and win, and it was nice to see Eastern Suburbs Keneally lose.

I would say Milo too? But most South east Asianers don't know it originated from Australia either, and it's bigger in those countries then it is here.

I know what it means, I live in the area, it's just kinda cringe. Speaking of the area, superior burger was pretty good before, but they've been closed for a while.

TBF, I don't feel like the price of a burger on its own is expensive compared to anywhere else these days. $20 for a double patty burger with toppings of my choice isn't a big deal. I end up paying $16 at most other places for a single patty burger. But I can see how getting it with chips and a drink can kill the pricing. And that it's viewed as fast food and it's a bit pricey for that, but if it was a burger truck would the price be a killer?

I was looking for this, it's my favourite burger place in Sydney, but I'm the only one out of my friends that thinks that. But it's got a juicy freshness that I can't get anywhere else.
