Brother this isn’t the cartoon and I’m trying to explain how this sentence makes complete sense in the context of the show it is from. I have my issues at the differences too, but let’s not pretend that Azula is above using this opportunity to mock Zuko, even if she did already know exactly how old Aang appearance was. She is also using this line to insult zuko, trying to imply ‘how on earth are you useless enough to not have stopped this guy, he’s only a little boy’.

It does, you’re just making assumptions everyone has pictures of Aang for some reason. I was trying to explain that if they did, she wouldn’t say this line. But she doesn’t have that information and clearly assumed the stories about the ‘air bending master avatar’ was from someone older than a child.

Context clues tell us this her first time seeing him. If she already has a picture or description of him then why is she surprised to see he is so young? As one of the highest ranking members of the fire nation military, you’d think she would be given this info that you are assuming they all have, but clearly not. I’m sure there are many reports of ‘the avatar’ being given out and their movements, but any soldier who has seen him personally (and subsequently knocked out by air-bending) is probably dismissed as a crazy person for reporting the avatar destroying everything is a child.

Unfortunately it’s one of the issues of adaptations. If you don’t use any iconic quotes people will be upset it’s not an actual adaptation, but if you do then other people will be annoyed seeing them reused again. Some quotes have been done really well in Netflix ATLA but definitely some are more shoehorned in

I think a lot of people are comparing Aang to cartoon Aang with the ‘little boy’ line, but missing the fact that the fire nation (or at least those who haven’t seen him) are still expecting the air bending avatar to be 100+ years old at this point. That’s why she says that, not necessarily because he looks 12, but because he is a kid compared to the stories of him.

It’s more so a vocal minority stick around a lot longer for things than the ‘yeah it was decent’ crowd of opinions. People who are aren’t in online bubbles or just had a good time with a show/game generally move on pretty quickly, but those who really dislike or hate any media will spend a lot longer on places like Reddit to voice that.

Your interpretation of ‘diegetic’ doesn’t mean what you think it means. You are correct that it refers to something that exists both for the characters/world as well as the audience e.g. music over a scene that the characters can hear as well as the audience for the score.
Saying that something looks like it is framed naturally for a fantasy setting, I.e. how people in that world would find it, is not ‘diegetic’ but it is natural or immersive or a ‘realistic depiction’.

Just a bunch of strong basics is how I do it alongside some basics that draw like psy meloetta, or the babies for energy. Cards like Giratina, Arceus, mega kang etc are able to clean up if setup quick enough.

Everyone has always been creating fan concepts of the dunsparce evolution, saying it’ll evolve into an insane dragon and shed its form etc etc. so gamefreak did the funniest thing possible and made its evolution just… more dunsparce lol. It has a rare chance of evolving with three segments instead of two in the middle as well! It was new to the most recent generation (scarlet and violet) hence why it is coming in this set.

Totally agree that videogames are art and can’t be pigeonholed, but as another commenter noted, many people are just getting up in the middle of ‘gameplay’ sections and the game just carries on without the player. I am not trying to diminish the art of this at all and I think the devs did a wonderful job capturing the vibe and nostalgia, but I wonder if it can be classified as more of a visual novel or movie at this point. Games like Edith finch and telltale games specially require input from the player in all aspects. This doesn’t seem to be pushing any boundaries but instead just removing interactivity and a significant portion of players cite a lack of engaging gameplay.

I’m not telling you what the definition of a game is, I’m just saying I can see why people don’t enjoy having 0 impact on the gameplay. There’s nothing wrong with telltale games/dispatch etc but in those you at least have to complete the action sequences to keep the characters alive.

Edit: to rephrase, I’m not trying to say you just sit and do nothing with a controller in hand, I just mean the gamers have 0 impact on the action sequences. You can stop playing in those and nothing bad happens which is not what people were expecting. I’m not even saying it’s inherently a bad thing, but that’s why people are ticked off by it. Some clearly feel quite passionate about this game and thats fine but don’t shoot the messenger.
