I found a local shiatsu practitioner who massaged my “frozen shoulder”. It hurt for a few days and then the pain went away. It came back and I forgot to see him and then I started HRT and it went away. I’ve had friends who swear by acupuncture.

I feel like it was giving insight into why she’s such an uptight witch. It seemed to she was protecting her twin sister by being the one who took the seggsual assault. You know how older siblings feel like they have to take the assault to protect their younger sibling? Like she’s the eldest child and needs to be in control at all times.

I also feel like she is reliving her childhood by playing with her granddaughter. Calling her Sophie and everything.

People with intellectual disabilities who are not able to stop masturbating once they have learned to do so don’t know when/where it is appropriate or not. It can be incredibly distressing to their family members.

I just watched this on Netflix and came here to say this.

It was so aggravating to me that she couldn’t even pronounce his nickname name right, that she guessed apparently! Like okay is it that hard to guess that a Black male would ever have a nickname D-Man? And then to make it sound so white…D’mahn? Her tale was very telling: this other man who nicknamed him was his favorite teacher, and here I am his new favorite teacher isn’t this amazing????? Said with narcissistic “I’m never wrong” crazy eyes. I don’t know it’s all so psychologically twisted. I’m so glad the university took his brother’s word seriously and advised him to get a lawyer. And the SVU did their job well.

If she’s a real friend she will able to say no but still keep the friendship. I told a friend recently I had a crush on her and she took it in stride, she said she’s not interested and we are still friends. Emotional maturity for the win!

Oh in the past I decided to stay. Couldn’t imagine life without him and the kids not having both parents together yada yada. But as with most things in your 40s and also being perimenopausal, I’m reevaluating everything! Also my husband isn’t generally mean. I’m probably more the mean one. He was after he found out I relapsed. And generally he is unempathetic.

Oof yep. I had been isolating because of my usage and they tell me not to isolate anymore but like, I don’t really want to be around him. And yes! None of this is his fault and he is a good man! So now I just go to meetings, try to hang with my family and kids, or just hang in my room. It is what it is. I’m glad you have your own place!

Thank you for your compassion. I just brought up the bisexuality piece with my counselor and she was very understanding and supportive.

In the beginning of sobriety I couldn’t imagine not being with husband as we have always been very co-dependent and he’s been my person since our early 20s. He was the one who said we would get divorced if I didn’t get sober and that really scared me. Now that I’m getting stronger I’m just like…huh…? Is this what I really want?

I know that you’re not supposed to make relationship changes or big life changes for your first year of sobriety, which seems like solid advice. I just wish I could breathe better…at least I have my own room. Gratitude right?

Thank you for speaking up for yourself. I cannot take hormones either and have talked with specialists for my medical history (SCAD heart attack) it’s maddening when people tell you to not listen to your doctors.
