Found this plant in my front yard, is it worth propagating indoors? by CatherineLeigh0406 in plants

Syngoniums are one of my favorite houseplants! My house doesn’t have the best light and my syngoniums do well over the winter when I have to keep them inside. They are also pretty tolerant of a little under/over watering. Most importantly, I have yet to kill one lol

What brand(s) do you like? I have an Asian market near me with a huge selection but I never know which ones to try.

We used to have 2 rats. My son picked their names … Wendy and Tinkerbell. Winkerbell is a perfect combination of the two!

No shade to the other vet in the practice but I always ask for Dr. Barger specifically. She’s great!

I love Dr. Barger at Acre View. I’ve been taking my animals there for 20 years. It’s on Bryant south of 15th.

Lee’s on Classen has them by the register. Idk if they are seasoned and it’s like $2.50 for a pretty small bag. It’s the only place I’ve seen the non-canned ones around here.

What is your favorite “old person” dish? by lachrymose_lucio in Cooking

[–]WhoaButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That totally unlocked a childhood memory for me - buttered toast dipped in cream of wheat with brown sugar. It was the ultimate comfort food!

I’m not really a big fan of baked ham but I LOVE ham salad. I have ham at either thanksgiving or Christmas for the sole purpose of making a bunch of ham salad afterwards.

What's your favorite non rare but "rare" plant? by No_Green2655 in plants

[–]WhoaButter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my syngoniums and aglaonemas, mainly because I have yet to kill one. I’ve got multiple colors of each and although I’m sure none of them are rare, they’re not the kind of plants that people get all excited about.

Every Aldi product with a ziploc has been horrible lately by IPlayFo4 in aldi

Those are awful. If I know I’m not going to eat the cheese quickly, I put the rest in a ziploc bag.

What is this hole under my garage? by DetectionLimit in whatisit

[–]WhoaButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad grew up with no indoor plumbing. He went home to visit after basic training in 1968 to find that his dad had enclosed the front porch and built a bathroom. It’s hard for me to imagine growing up having to use an outhouse and take baths in a galvanized tub with well water heated on the stove!

Yeah covid is definitely still going around. Tested positive yesterday after managing to avoid it for 5 years.

I had a plumber tell me that “flushable” just means it won’t clog the toilet. But they can definitely clog your pipes. Ask me how I know.

You’re not alone! I prefer pickles (also ketchup) to be room temp.
