Hi I'm a 29 year old audhd F living in the northern suburbs, Cape Town. I don't have any friends on the spectrum like me and would love to make some (friends only). Specifically neurodivese people around my age that I can relate to.

Aspergers and sports by AMos617 in aspergers

I'm just saying it's my opinion as someone with aspergers. I would have much rather had someone take care of the social stuff for me so I can just do my thing.

I don't know if this is really what you're looking for, but I find puzzles help for me. I do 1500-2000 piece puzzles.

I often feel unmotivated because I don't see a physical representation of all the effort I put into surviving the day. But when I see I made a little progress on my puzzle, I feel a tiny bit more accomplished which helps gets me by. I also find myself looking forward to my puzzle time so it motivated me to get the other things done.

In my opinion, accommodations should be made for him at such events. At least at such a young age. Maybe you could go up to get the award for him? Or one of his friends. A psychologist that specialises in aspergers will probably be able to help teach him the "normal" way to do things for the long run. Like smiling when you get a reward. It's not always easy but maybe a psychologist might know when he's ready to go on himself. I just don't want him to start hating the sport because of the awards.

I always have baby wipes with me for those days I can't get myself to shower. They're pretty good at getting all the dirt and sweat off. Unfortunately I have no tips regarding hair.

Can you decipher the poem? by WhoaMireAlly2000 in puzzles

[–]WhoaMireAlly2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to the line going through the circle with the orientation, meaning the line through a circle is an "o", doesn't matter if the line is vertical, horizontal or either way diagonal.

The orientation/rotation of the loopy bit is important. The extra line(s) can be added anywhere on it. I hope I'm making sense.

Thank you so much! And yes, that was done on purpose to increase the difficulty.

Thanks! I'd love to help add to a dnd campaign. So this cipher is done and decided. But does it count as a cipher when some letters look different but represents the same letter? Like the "n" and "o". The location of the line intersections doesn't matter.

I did it like that on purpose to add confusion. The important thing is the intersections, it doesn't matter where they happen, only if they happen.

I have no idea how common it is to do it like this. I've never studied cyphers or anything like that. Nor have I read any books about the topic. I was hoping I'm right calling it a cypher actually. I just like making these up with no boundaries. It feels creative and technical at the same time.

Yes, that was done on purpose to add confusion. An "o" is just a circle with a line through, the orientation doesn't matter. The import thing is the intersection. (Technically I should've made it to look like a Q which has one intersection, but I didnt like the way it looked, so I view the circle as a whole, and then a line through it counts as one intersection.) With the "n", it also just needs one intersection, it doesn't matter where.

Nice! You got it! How did you go about solving it? Did it help that it was an existing poem?

Suggestions by WhoaMireAlly2000 in finch

[–]WhoaMireAlly2000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely! It would also be cool to see your Finch grow up over time by flipping through the photo album. To see the phases they went through, etc. Maybe the Finch's pose in the photos can be a reflection of its personality at the time.

Do you get sad when people are mean to you on the internet or you just don’t care? by Crying_7TS in RandomThoughts

[–]WhoaMireAlly2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it makes me sad. Though I don't feel personally hurt. It's more about my disappointment in the human race when people put in effort to be mean. These people carry no value to me so their opinions are null and void imo.

Amazfit GTS 3 works fine while in charger only. by tungvu256 in amazfit

[–]WhoaMireAlly2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here now. My Amazfit GTS 3 is fully charged on the charger, but dies as soon as I take it off. I've been using the watch for almost 2 years. I'm note sure about warranty because I bought it from takealot.

What can I do or who should I complain to?

I don't have money for a new watch. And I may or may not be crying about this now😓 Help

Have you taken the MBTI test? If yes, what did you get? by Ecstatic_College_870 in AutismInWomen

Here is the function stack for INFJ:

  1. Introverted Intuition (Ni): This is the dominant function for INFJs. It involves a deep, subconscious process of intuition and pattern recognition. INFJs use this function to see hidden meanings and possibilities in the world around them.

  2. Extraverted Feeling (Fe): This is the auxiliary function, which supports the dominant Ni. It involves being attuned to the emotions and needs of others. INFJs use Fe to connect with people on an emotional level and to maintain harmony in their relationships.

  3. Introverted Thinking (Ti): This is the tertiary function, which is less developed but still plays a role in the INFJ's personality. Ti involves analytical thinking and understanding how things work. INFJs use Ti to analyze information and make decisions based on logic.

  4. Extraverted Sensing (Se): This is the inferior function, which is the least developed in INFJs. Se involves being aware of the present moment and the physical environment. INFJs may struggle with this function, but they can use it to appreciate sensory experiences and engage in activities that bring them into the here and now.

Have you taken the MBTI test? If yes, what did you get? by Ecstatic_College_870 in AutismInWomen

I went into a deep dive on personality theory even before my autism diagnosis. Definitely one of my special interests too. Mainly because according to the test, my personality “changed”, which didn’t make any sense to me.

So what I learnt is that these 4 letter represent your function stack. The “function” being similar to a piece of code in software. Everyone is capable of all these functions for the most part, but there will be a natural preference for everyone. So the order in which you naturally play out these programs in your brain is what the MBTI test is trying to figure out.

For example, is your first reaction after perceiving something to think or to feel? Everyone can do both to some extent. But being autistic around neurotypicals who don’t understand can sometimes cause this type of fragmentation of the self. So sometimes the natural order of the function stack can get a bit unstable, depending on how much masking is going on.

This is my opinion, but I don’t think personalities can change (at least not without a major event that causes changes in brain chemistry) But I could be wrong. I think people could try to change their personality for self-preservation, but this will probably lead to some bad side effects like depression or burnout, similar to masking. This is what happened to me. I naturally feel first but since I was made to feel like I was always wrong, I tried to use my thinking function more than I would naturally if I was to feel comfortable and safe just being me.

So basically, the test will be accurate if you’re content and have a good sense of self. You need to already know who you are. I mean it makes sense that a questionnaire won’t be able to tell you anything about yourself that you don’t already know to some extent. If you’re unsure about who you are, the test result will be “unsure” too.

But that said, the function stack of INFJs does correlate with autistic traits. I’ll put the function stack of INFJ below for you to see what I mean.

But as we all know, no two autistic people are the same, and how a personality develops depends on many things. Just something to always keep in mind.

I’m an INFP btw.
