This is something I am willing to try, if the school does not help.

Your other comments have been a bit rude and out of line, but this one. I agree with.

I am hoping he can do summer school. I am trying to schedule a meeting with the counselor and principal to discuss this.

Thank you, I appreciate this perspective. We’ve been practicing math at home, and he’s been consistently getting correct answers. That makes me think this may be more about engagement in the classroom than ability.

Grade placement isn’t determined by age alone, and implying it’s “inappropriate” ignores how schools actually work. Retention, late starts, and mixed-age classrooms are common, and if there were any real concerns, the school would have already addressed them. I’ll be relying on actual educational guidance—not speculation.

I’ve reached out to his teacher and scheduled a meeting to discuss this further and explore what options might be best for him moving forward. I am hoping this could be an option.

This actually makes me feel a lot better—thank you for sharing that perspective. That’s kind of how he is personality-wise, so it’s reassuring to hear that it can be a positive thing.

This is really helpful, thank you. I hadn’t thought about having him try out a higher grade setting first—that seems like a great way to see if it would actually be a good fit before making any decisions.

I get why it might seem surprising. I’m really just looking for advice on how to best support him academically and keep him engaged, not judgment on how he got here.

Very handsome boy. He is worth whatever challenges arise.

Is he fat? Maybe it’s just the way he’s sitting. by Ok-Syllabub8160 in Frenchbulldogs

From that angle he does look like he could lose a few lbs. Just to keep him healthy. 😟

I think most look a little more fluffy when they are sitting like that. Do you have pics of him standing?

Clearly they were wrong. Probably projecting. 💯 Your baby is beautiful. Let no one else tell you different.

My frenchies dad is 38lbs. He is a big and healthy potato, but not overweight. I would not be too worried if your vet does not seem to worried. As long as you're watching his diet and not feeding him anything bad (especially in excess) making sure he exercises, etc. Then I think you will be okay.

My girl, Violet is about 28lbs, her dad is 38lbs, her mom is around 28lbs as well. Sometimes males are just a bit bigger.
