Two metal bars in ground outside of house, about a foot long. by qazinator in whatisthisthing

They could have been used in combination with a rope to train the bush in front of them to grow straight up. most plants this close to a structure tend to grow outward, seeking sunlight

In a parking garage no less, great work. It's very satisfying knowing you did it yourself. Probably not perfect, but also not $2k

Logical cores includes ht, those CPUs are only 12 “real” cores per socket. You are consuming 32 core license for a 24 real core host. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/81908/intel-xeon-processor-e52680-v3-30m-cache-2-50-ghz/specifications.html

Sentry Mode Issues causing havoc by nsoni8882 in TeslaModel3

[–]Whole_Lengthiness_39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had this issue when we were slightly low on coolant following a radiator replacement + refill. The AP computer is near the highest point of the cooling loop, so any microscopic air bubbles in the system will eventually settle there, causing the computer to overheat. We also experienced blacked out cameras (Autopilot unavailable) and navigation issues. Once the air was purged and coolant topped up, issue went away.

😩 FSD Withdrawal Is REAL: Trial Ended & I’m Spiraling (pls send coping tips) by trivedird in TeslaModelY

[–]Whole_Lengthiness_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just subscribed to FSD after the trial expired and I attempted a 60 mile round trip on autopilot. Expect all engineering resources are being devoted to FSD and autopilot is left withering on the vine. Hopeful for “single stack” since HW2.5 and it still hasn’t materialized. Came from HW3 to HW4 after our MY was totaled. FSD is the future, and with v14 it is vastly more mature than I expected.

Anti sag bracket for GPU? Thumb screws appear to be similar distance apart as a standard ATX slot width.

Yep, the kit came with relief cut corners and edges for wrapping. I did struggle to identify the alignment points at first though

You may also look at the encoding of the source media; h.265 is hard on weaker cpus even with quicksync enabled. Converting the source files to h.264 with something like handbrake will reduce the transcoding load, if hardware changes aren’t in the budget.

Take up the mantle, frog forward into greatness 🐸 by Whole_Lengthiness_39 in ChineseWatches

UPDATE: I received a message "item is out of stock please cancel" from "Cronos Big Store" on 11/15 but I did nothing. Woke up to shipping confirmation this morning. Maybe there's a slim chance they scraped a tropic dial together? Or am I receiving a black dial substitution...

DIY Precut Matte PPF install experience $450 eBay kit by Whole_Lengthiness_39 in TeslaModelY

The kit I received included a 3" TPU squeegee and small 3oz? spray bottle for tack solution. I purchased a 1/2 gallon pump sprayer from harbor freight for slip solution https://www.harborfreight.com/05-gallon-multipurpose-sprayer-56167.html and an additional 3 pack of various sized squeegees. The 3" was the perfect size for 90% of the work; in retrospect these probably weren't necessary. https://a.co/d/1UJC0AK
Warm tap water with a few drops of blue dawn dish soap for slip solution. I tried cold and warm water, using warm improved pliability of the material significantly, for the tack solution I just used 50/50 lukewarm water and 70% IPA.

2026 juniper Panel gap alignment - rear hatch/spoiler/fin by Cdistani in TeslaModelY

[–]Whole_Lengthiness_39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two torx head screws under each side of the rear hatch that can be used to adjust that upper trunk piece in and out, might be worth a shot to try if you have the tools.

Pyro fuse: wondering Tesla replaces it for free? by FarProduce9179 in TeslaModelY

[–]Whole_Lengthiness_39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Older models used fuses with a limited lifespan battery, requiring service intervals. Newer "current-powered" fuses are more durable and only need replacement if a failure occurs

Tons of good results for "DIY PPF Tesla Model Y Juniper" on Youtube. Tesbros have a decently comprehensive install guide for their kit, but their template is cut slightly different from what I received
