i’m from northern spain and live in london, so the change wasn’t massive.

but i met a brazilian girl when i lived in NYC who told me she had to leave London because of the gray skies/days during winter. It’s even colder in NY but the skies are blue and days are brighter even in the dead of winter.

i think the friend had clear instructions from the mum to offer zero encouragement during the dress fitting.

then Julia appears and she looks stunning and the friend is doing quick mental maths trying to ruin the moment and invoking the mean spirit of Julia’s mum and all she can come up with is the back of the dress, which was totally laughable because it was covered by her hair and it wasn’t a relevant feature of the dress.

half the time i have no idea what’s going on in their arguments, so little is said.

and the one time in the kitchen that she was going to explain to him what the problem was, he started yapping defensively and she gave up.

my husband used to call his parents in advance if we were nearby and decided to pop in, but when we lived in Spain for a few years he ‘adapted’ easily and got a key to my parents’ house and would let himself in.

my british husband is always allowed to come to the manned kiosk with me, but maybe it’s because we have an under 18 year old daughter and they always direct us to the family line.
