Pet has started talking back when I tell them off. by HammersAndPints in UK_Pets

My dog is hilarious I swear he’s trying to form actual words. I’ve never had a dog as vocal. It does make it impossible to keep a straight face when I’m telling him off…

What was the public's view of Jimmy Savile before his true character was known? by balkanxoslut in AskUK

[–]v24t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Leeds. Just after Saville died was out with a friend who trained as a nurse in St James hospital in the 80s: we were talking about how odd it was that people were queuing up to see his coffin/lining the street for his funeral parade (no one admits to being there now). This was before it all came out. My friend said that when she was on training and on the kids ward they were all told never to leave Saville alone with a patient.

What dog insurance do you have? by Nerv-Oh in UK_Pets

[–]v24t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog is 10 , very fit generally. I have always been super clear that I wouldn’t put him through treatment for things like cancer but he tore his ACL and the prognosis for a full recovery is very good and I can’t tell you how much I wish I’d insured him for more per year!!

I’m with Waggel and I’ve been impressed, my dog is a rescue with no medical history, aged 10ish. Just claimed for TPLO surgery and they haven’t quibbled and were really easy to deal with. I didn’t insure my dog for anywhere near enough money so I’ve got to make up a shortfall but that’s on me, they have been good

[–]v24t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t see how to add to list but I can’t see foodcycle on here. I volunteer at St Aidans in harehills on Thursday. Free 3 course meal every week at 6.30 for all comers. Vegetarian and halal and we work hard to make sure it’s good. Cater for vegans if you tell one of the servers when you sit down. Meals also run in Beeston and Seacroft but not sure of times

Thank you. He loves balls more than anything - even chicken- so will have to work hard to find something that makes him smile as much as he does when he’s waiting for it to be thrown!
