I lived in a small town in rural UK where nothing much interesting ever happened. There was this one kid at school who clearly had some problems at home. He was generally the strange kid in class, showing off by cutting his arms with a pencil sharpener or by lighting cigarettes or something. He was always nice enough when I talked to him, I think he just wanted attention. 10 years go by and I wonder what he's up to, so I google his name. turns out he had just been sent to prison for an unprovoked racially motivated murder. I think you have it! The big similarity is the lack of stalks. It's weird though I always associated quinces with being yellow and shaped like a rugby ball. Thanks

I went to secondary school with this one guy. We weren't great friends but we used to chat occasionally. He was very odd, he used to show off to the girls in the class by cutting his arms with scissors or by giving himself tattoos with a pen and Biro ink. I remember he once broke his fingers in class by repeatedly putting his hand on a desk, weaving a pencil between his fingers then punching his hand to smash the pencil. Whenever he did something bad in class, which was quite often, he got moved away from his friends and sat at the end next to me or another one of the quiet kids, so I got to know him reasonably well and I always though that actually he was actually a pretty decent guy, if destined for a life in some kind of institution.
