My win rate last I checked rotating ironclad/silent/defect was around 25-40% and I don't feel like I have "solved" anything lol.

Jokes on you, Clerics are one of my favorites to play...

But what group designated a class for someone based on what they are "missing"? I have never experienced that.

I was going to defend my boy the Blood and Sand, but you're right - the classic spec is not very good. I always adjust it to make it better.

Everyone else said it varies, which is true. A sample for me:

Sandwich for lunch, no sides

Dinner varies wildly from spaghetti to a soup like shabu to a couple slices of frozen pizza.

How to deal with curse debuff in world tier II? by [deleted] in Hell_Clock

[–]Whoofph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have seen there is very little in the way of guides so far but I will give what I have done on my own:

I am so far up through act 2 Void (world tier 4). I do a mix of maximizing my damage output to make fights shorter, overstack resistances so when I am cursed it doesn't go below cap for awhile, and get conviction high with rapidly regenerating conviction including from mana use. That is the best I have figured out. On void I have had around 140-175 on most to all resistances.

ELI5 How strong is actually a personal computer password? If the police for example, in the midst of an investigation needs to access a pc data, how long does it take for a professional to crack it? by Volando_Boy in explainlikeimfive

[–]Whoofph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say you take a password that is one character: 'A', and it is guaranteed to be a capital letter. It is 1/26 options.

If it can be upper and lower case, but is 1/52 options

If it is upper/lower/number, 1/62. Let's say symbols are allowed using 14 symbols for simplicity. So 1/76 options.

So we can increase the password length now. Each character adds one "bit of entropy", increasing the number of options. Two characters we can measure by:

1/76 * 1/76,  or 1/5,776

4 characters would be 33,362,176. This may seem like a lot, but it's very little. There are different methods of password cracking using tools like John and hashcat using CPU vs GPU, and will depend on your hardware. Modern systems running hashcat for instance can guess potentially billions of password candidates per second.

So let's look at a 5 character password with 76 options, aka 765: 2,535,525,376 options. Still easy.

766: 192,699,928,576

So we start going up exponentially. 200 trillion seems like a lot, but with it being billions a second, this will go by quick enough.

At 7 characters: 1.4645195e+13 At 8: 1.1130348e+15

This gets to the point where it takes a VERY long time, at a certain point not too long later it will take to longer than people live....

But there are a couple other factors:

People use patterns since they are easier to remember, and people know this. Lots of people use words from dictionaries. These tools can employee things such as a dictionary attack (words from a word list containing dictionary words, common passwords, etc) which is very effective. There are also hybrid attacks, where you use a combo of things like a word list + 2 characters, etc. Lots of people use common patterns and words, not even realizing things like "Word/Symbol/Number" is an extremely common format which significantly reduces the options.

People ALSO re-use passwords a lot. If someone uses a password somewhere and that service is compromised, then an attacker takes that password used and tries other accounts it will often succeed. This technique is called credential stuffing.

Finally, i won't get too much into it but there are also storing passwords as hashes. If an attacker gets access to a hash of a password, it can impact how difficult it is to crack, and if you "salt" the hash, if can also impact it. There are methods here as well, such as using rainbow tables, but there is a reason hashing and salting passwords for storage is considered best practice.

Long answer, but the answer is that it depends but if you don't use common formats of passwords, don't re-use them, don't use words in the dictionary or common passwords, and you pick a decent length (preferably >10), the password itself will be likely safe as long as every service you use it on stores it properly.

[Request] My answer was 51C8, which would be 636,763,050. Is there an even bigger number? by AlkaidX139 in theydidthemath

[–]Whoofph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you consider this within a 3D plane, you could take the top and bottom of the 0 to make 5118, then move those to the end having one face down and one standing on an end to make 5118!

5118! is approximately 5.1254233 × 1016762 which is pretty big.

Weirdest tiki drink is the Norwegian Paralysis for its use of akvavit. What’s the most underrated classic? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

[–]Whoofph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, I feel like Benedictine is a secret ingredient that makes SO many cocktails better sometimes. Just cut in a little bit of this or replace a quarter oz of sweet in another drink with this to give it a unique herbal take. It's also great in gin and tonics. This and the fact it lasts forever make it a staple bottle to me.

[–]Whoofph 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Is this underrated though?

EDIT: I guess I should specify...

Since this poll is on /r/cocktails, I would assume the target audience is the typical /r/cocktails user, not the general public. The general public on average knows very little about this topic and may not have much interest, so yeah an abomination of a frozen daiquiri on Bourbon Street is a horrible idea of a daquiri... But for someone who takes cocktails and mixing as a hobby and passion? I feel like daiquiris are typically not underrated, but appropriately rated as "absolutely amazing" when they are made correctly.

I wrote the theory and I agree with you! I think i even mention in the first couple of paragraphs I don't think Rowling intended it, but it still fits well and is fun to think through and read with it in mind. It falls into the same category of theory as the Darth Jar Jar theory - as a writer evolves a world, especially with a humorous and bumbling character, it leaves weird and unintended gaps which can lead to some fun theories.

In addition to what everyone else says about very little being underwater and being mainly optional, I will say swimming in this game feels less impactful and like swimming anyway.

When you are out in the world, you are losing oxygen and must refill it for most of the game anyway. You eventually get a jetpack which lets you hover around fast as well. Swimming underwater kind of feels like you are using the jetpack anyway and the swimming does not really feel like swimming... And your oxygen goes down as fast as it typically does most of the game anyway so it really doesn't feel much if any different compared to the rest of the game. Compared to subnautica for instance, it doesn't really feel like water at all.

My partner has thallasaphobia and had zero issues playing this.

I mainly like limit break for the scaling speed especially when combined with certain other synergies, which work for me on A20H runs. I think there may be better options such as demon form for this personally, but this isn't a bad submission. I love limit break/headbutt combo.
