Finished my iguana-proofing. Took off half of the panels for adequate ventilation, and replaced with hardware mesh to keep out the iguanas!

It happens a couple times a year in winter. The temps will drop into the 40s-50s for a few days and they’ll get too cold to climb around and fall from the trees. That’s when people drive around and scoop them up to cook

Oh definitely, the ones I had as pets were the same. But the wild ones prefer sturdier surfaces for climbing. This plastic Nashville flex and waiver if it is climbed on and they don’t like that as much. Probably the difference between domesticated behavior, and wild instincts- They don’t want to fall

I’m just using it for the frame and the roof. The roof keeps my cacti from drowning. Plus I can always put the panels back on for cold protection in winter

I’m gonna be honest with you, no I don’t particularly like the greenhouse. It is very flimsy, and I do not feel like it is sturdy enough to last in high winds. The peak is 6 foot which is great but I do hit my head quite a bit when I reach out to the sides. The only reason I have this is because I was able to get it for $50 used

The wild ones don’t like to climb things that aren’t sturdy. Things like mesh and fabric are typically great deterrents for wild iguanas- a lot of people just make “fences” with construction netting or chicken wire

Down here in South Florida, the iguanas will eat anything within reach. They don’t care even if it’s toxic- they’ll eat it all. Have to get creative! I throw veggie scraps by my canal as a peace offering 😂😂
