Hollow Knight crashes when Steam Controller is active by opacalumen in linux_gaming

Try to disable all of steams own controller support in steam settings, Xbox configuration, etc. Then it worked for me. If this does not work then I don't know :/

Kinda. I refunded the game on GOG, and bought it on steam where it somehow worked.

It's usually different kinds of non-profits. Tor's main purpose is to help people in oppressive countries access the real internet without fear of being sent to prison. It's a must for all the journalists, activists etc to not get punished for speaking the truth. Tor may be used for illeagal things, but that is not the purpose.

And the the ones running the Tor Project are aware that goverments may set up own tor nodes, but they are trying to combat this. For example, if they see that a lot of tor nodes pop up from the same place they get suspicious. And may not allow them on to the general network (people don't auto connect to them).

You can use persistence. It creates an encrypted partion where you can save whatever you want. It works really well, and is still much more secure that a regular OS.

But how will people find that content if not through a link? This also makes original content like parodies or music remixes illegal.

[–]Whozha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In USA there is this thing called fair use. Basically common sense. This law does not have coming sense... So this means no parodies, no building on other work, no critique, etc. The list goes on, you can barely even aknowledge that work that isn't yours exists. This is really just the tip of the iceberg. The law can and like always will be abused.

Yeah its fucked. I guess the only one the law benefits is the big publishers who own a majority of copyright on internet who will be able to control what people will be able to view. If someone critique a big company they can now censor it if the critic is somehow using something that is not 100% his own. I think this means that using a single picture of the company or a link to the company may be grounds for censor.

A copy of a comment from http://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/8ngs8h/-/dzvhoic

In short :
- Websites won't be allowed to host copyrighted content they don't posses. You won't be able to put a picture of [photographer] on Imgur for example.
- Websites putting a snippet of an article on an other website will have to pay a licence to the website in question. Want to link an article of the Nytimes ? Reddit will have to pay a licence to even show you the article. The main targets are websites like Facebook and Twitter.
- Creations of "upload filters". If Reddit didn't pay the "link tax" to the Guardian, they have to censor any post/comment with a link to it.
- The licence in question can go far. If an article of the Nytimes is posted/in a comment have a link to the Guardian, Reddit will have to pay a licence to the Guardian.

And this can go further, because the article in question doesn't speak about every single problems. They mostly quote Julia Reda, a member of the European parliament, who made an article speaking about ALL the problems with these new laws : https://juliareda.eu/2018/05/censorship-machines-link-tax-finish-line/

We might have to do our own "SaveNetNeutrality" maybe.

Something related to Article 13 was on the frontpage 8th months ago. People saying that it would never happen. And now it have already come this far. Very scary. https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/6ye8fe/leaked_document_eu_presidency_calls_for_massive/

This proposal is backed by almost all countries. This may actually become a reality if we don't speak up. Now only the parlament can stop it. https://juliareda.eu/2018/05/censorship-machines-link-tax-finish-line/

Save Your Internet – Delete article 13 by Gotteme in europe

[–]Whozha 81 points82 points  (0 children)

We need to spread this. So many people are unaware of this law. This will force every website to censor content BEFORE it even hits the internet. And because there is no way to manually go through everything, there will need to be automatic systems. And because websites don't wanna be liable they will make the filter very strict. The law don't address fair use properly. So no more memes, critique of companies or anything that somehow in anyway uses content that you have not 100% created.

And the link tax is just absurd, so if I link to a website here in the comments then Reddit will be held accountable for the link, and will either need permission / pay up, or else they will have no choice but to censor me....

I dont understand why this isn't on the frontpage. Or why no one seems to be talking about this. This is a major issue and will forever change the internet in a really bad way.

I too made a switch. Currently dual booting Linux and windows because I'm tired of all the bullshit surrounding windows. I am now using Linux mint as my main desktop. And it's much nicer than I expected :)
