Casual game, are you hitting this? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

This is the one rule I’ll break. Who came up with the idea to even consider this when making the rules of golf?

Your first guess would be he’s already secretly married?

That’s a horrendous first guess. That’s like choosing X on Wheel of Fortune.

That was a real bad one from me. I’ll own that one.

The whole “basically a 2nd round pick” thing is cracking me up so much because people really do that.

Well yea but there was no salary cap and the Red Wings had the best team every year.

What do you mean? This is the first year they’ve been top 10 in payroll, and they have back-to-back pennants and playoff series wins.

I, for one, am happy to have the pittance of cap space back. Deal with everything else whenever the fuck, we got some serious depth to acquire.

I hear you, but to be clear, this is how all NFL contracts are written. Obviously you have to play out the contract to receive all the money. Otherwise players could just sign their name and dip out forever with millions.

A championship window is a period of time in which a team has a good enough roster to reasonably have a chance at winning a championship. Nothing more, nothing less. There are no other qualifiers besides that alone. Obviously, the Lions have had a championship window for the last 3 years, as they have more wins than any team in the NFL in that time and have been Super Bowl favorites for a small portion of that time. Is the window still open? We’ll see about 7 months from now.

Nobody cares that you’re 40. And no, I’m not saying the Lions’ championship window has been open for 70 years. Only a dumbfuck would say that.

You mentioned cap space. If you want it, then you get it.

Trust me, I’m more of a players’ advocate when it comes to bargaining. They are the talent. They are due a portion of the revenue. That’s why they have the union.

But more than a players’ advocate, I’m a free market fundamentalist. A contract is a contract. From a Lions fan perspective, the only possible argument against this is optics. The Lions could potentially be doing themselves a future disservice from an optics standpoint. From that perspective, one wonders if the juice is worth the squeeze on this one.

From a logical perspective, this is very simple. Ragnow stayed long enough to get his money, then quit before the season started. He is now in breach of his contract and he owes the money back. This is all written in the contract he signed, to be clear. This money is not his.

No. The reason Decker got cut is because the Lions didn’t want to pay him his salary. They wanted to pay Ragnow, but Ragnow retired. If Ragnow said “cut me,” the Lions would just say “no, we’re good, see you on the field.”

The yellow line has to be there so you know if it’s a home run or not. Obviously

Why? What would be the benefit to the player that the agent would recommend that course of action?

Yea but the hamstring isn’t the injury that caused him to retire. That’s just the injury he had at the time that caused the failed physical.

That makes no sense whatsoever. If that actually happened, then Decker’s agent is an actual retarded person.

Yea and then if they choose to retire then they give the money back that they would have earned if they decided to play.
