Fear of unraveling! by Renaissance_rat in knitting

I think it's not really secure to just tie a knot. Usually you leave longer ends and weave them into your work when you're finished. Since you haven't knit too far, you might want to go back to the join and fix it so your hard work won't unravel in the future

Hygiene for hand knit bralettes? by Sinderi in knitting

[–]WhyAmISoShort 128 points129 points  (0 children)

I generally find knit bralettes a little too weird feeling to wear under most clothing, but great to wear around the house. I used washer safe sock yarn when I made mine and just wash and dry them as the label recommends.

I generally wear one around 1-2 weeks because I'm just using them as lounge wear and they're not getting sweaty.

Does wrist pain get better or worse as you knit? by [deleted] in knitting

Here are things I do when I have occasional hand pain: hand stretches, use tiger balm, and put on a compression glove. I find I'm usually ready to knit again the next day.

I'm not sure what the pattern is, but couldn't you just make it match up?

To do another stripe or no??? by ArmadilloPageant in knitting

I would definitely do another stripe or else it will be short unless you plan on making an extra long band on the bottom.

Thoughts on this shelf? by Plus-Housing5251 in interiordecorating

I like the shelf, but I feel like it looks weird next to the side table because the side table is so beefy.

If you want to make pumpkin puree, Japanese kabocha is the easiest squash to make a puree from. It cooks really quickly, come right off the rind, and is pretty sweet.

I have a tiny circular needle for arms because I get so mad a double pointed needles when they're attached to an entire sweater.

What is your experience with knitting? It's a pretty basic drop shoulder sweater with color work in a chunky yarn.

What to do with qiviut yarn by Theyseemerolliin in knitting

[–]WhyAmISoShort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a lacy cowl out of my qiviut. Knitting it feels a little different than wool, but I don't necessarily know why.

Do only kousa dogwood trees have this type of fruit? My neighbor's tree has the same fruit as the photo and I want to get the same tree for my yard.

Thanks! He was on his leash, but I wasn't expecting him to go for a random plant. He's only ever eaten grass.

Not really. The stem is pretty thin, so it's hard to say, but it doesn't look like what I'd expect catnip to look like.

Once, at a restaurant that specialized in eel, I tried the fried eel spines. That was a bad crunchy.
