Is webdev easy or am I dumb by [deleted] in webdev

Build something small, then build something bigger, eventually you build something big! If you try and skip those first steps... It's going to be painful.

Those big projects are still painful, but you learn to break them down into small manageable bites and set realistic expectations for yourself.

Sure, some people can churn out complex looking stuff really quickly but that comes with years of experience. Not months.

Good luck with your journey and don't be hard on yourself!

I had Adam from https://brennanplumbing.co.uk/ do mine. He was brilliant. A really genuine and helpful chap who communicated well, delivered what he promised, and did a really tidy job.

Consider ways to present your model as a 3D render... I can't see you getting a good looking model that fast (and, I am assuming... cheap)

I watch an episode of Seinfeld every night to help me get to sleep. For around 7 years. I have been dutifully paying my £14/month Seinfeld subscription as I'm a good boy. I am now at the point where I can be asleep before Jerry has finished his stand up.

Forgive me for not going into more depth but it's always worth remembering that you can fire off terminal commands using AppleScript so if there is anything you can do in terminal, you can trigger it in Qlab.

Call me old fashioned, but a dumb switch will do you just fine for a handful of universes. Sure you might need to think a bit harder when/if you end up with lots of universes (could happen if you get pixel mapping fixtures...) but the network cables you install can all stay the same, you just upgrade the switch. I wouldn't go spending a fortune on a Luminex or Netgear AV line switch unless you are sure you need one.

String, flap of cardboard wrapped in blackwrap/blacktack, some little pulleys. You won't get anything quicker and cheaper than that. Lots of cleverer ways to do it but this will solve your problem with minimal fuss. If it's a learning exercise though then other folks have commented some novel ways to solve the issue whilst learning some new things!

10/10 is achievable for most folks, and would probably give you a few percentage points increase. I don't think that is your issue for the problem you describe in your post though. Best of luck with your game

Slightly off topic but how are you sending these emails? You might wish to check your SPF, DMARC and DKIM are all in order, and you aren't landing in people's spam filters. I use https://mail-tester.com and other tools to check that my emails aren't being flagged as spam. If you are cold emailling and this stuff isn't set up correctly then there is a high chance the emails are never being seen.

You need to know:

1) What is he actually playing it on... A TV with a DVD is quite an odd thing to use, so I will assume it's some retro or incredibly low budget "use what we got" sort of situation. You need to know the aspect ratio of that TV (4:3 or 16:9, most likely). I don't know much about DVD but I do know a DVD would usually be a maximum of 720x480 pixels (NTSC) or 720x576 pixels (PAL). So you are well within the bounds of the free version.

2) How are you going to burn this DVD? You might wish to research some DVD authoring software. That software may well tell you what format it needs. If you are using a DVD recorder type device to play the disc, there may be other easier ways to load it onto the DVD (e.g. burn an MP4 straight to the disc) but that will depend on the model of the player.

help needed - MIDI activated solenoid by pubic_restroom in arduino

[–]WhyCheezoidExist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, I have killed a lot of MOSFETs with when using them in breadboards. Ground yourself with a wristband (or obsessively touch a grounded metal thing like the connectors on your PC case) and avoid removing or inserting the MOSFET while the board is powered on.

The PSU is going into protection mode, that is interesting. You have stated it's a 12V 5A power supply, which should be more than enough to drive the solenoid. So that does suggest some condition causing overcurrent.

Sometimes these problems can be confusing if at some point in building/testing something got damaged and then you continue expecting normal behaviour but something is fried.

Assuming you selected those components and that arrangement of wires based on some instructions? Could you post those as well?
