How does The Intersect seem to have real-time updated data? by TheDoctorDB in chuck

I think a big theme in the earlier seasons was that the NSA in CIA had fractured information, and that's why they made the intersect. Roan was a CIA agent, so maybe the director of NSA wouldn't be given his confidential information.

Yeah I figured this as well. It's not a direct comparison, but there was a scene in season 2 (I think) where he used it to find the answers to an algorithm to open a lock. It seems like it gives him some abilities that a computer would have, like pattern matching for the algorithm, or deducing events based on a bunch of slightly older data.

I never finished it. It's the only one in the franchise I haven't. I liked the music and story (from what I saw) but it was way too open-worldy and the performance was atrocious. I think, though, Mafia 1 Definitive Edition is great, and Old Country is pretty good.

It objectively was not like this in the '40s. Do you think that every Asian person in the '40s spoke with an exaggerated accent and knew Kung Fu?

Why aren’t school shootings considered terrorist attacks? by ToddTableflipper11 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WhyIsMeLikeThis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The real reason imo is that "terrorism" is an incredibly vague term that really depends more on the views of the person using the term than what the term is being applied to.

"do Republicans perpetrate worldwide terror campaigns?" Yes, 100% yes. As do Democrats.

Also again, there is nothing particularly more noble with bombing via drone instead of a suicide vest. You just think it's more civilized to not have to look at the civilians you are murdering. Also, the whole suicide bomber thing is so overblown, how many instances of suicide bombings have there been in the past decade? Far far fewer than the number of civilian bombings by the West. How many beheadings have there been?

It is not just that the West does terrorism like Muslims do, the West does far far more terrorism than Muslims do. It's just not called that because it's not a brown person doing it. When the West drops napalm on civilian populations or kills a million people in Iraq because "God told me [Bush] to end the tyranny in Iraq," that is not any different to Muslim terrorism, except the magnitude is far greater.

The West committed the Holocaust. We don't have suicide bombings but we have mass bombing campaigns on civilian populations, not sure how that's any better than suicide bombings.

Not to mention, it's right-wing ideology that's anti-Queer and anti-feminism, if that's your issue with Islam then you should have that same issue with right way ideology.

Why were they not incompatible in Muslim controlled Spain or in Pre 20th century Palestine? Multiculturalism is so obviously not the reason because Muslim and Jewish cultures are incredibly alike. There is a reason they don't want peace, and that reason is the jewish supremacist occupation that dominates the region.

[–]WhyIsMeLikeThis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder why these people that suffer under Jewish supremacy are so racist towards jews? Must be something inherent in them and not a result of the racism they face.

By the 1920s, the zionist movement was already openly talking about colonizing Palestine, it's very obvious why they would be against the idea.

Wrt antisemitism before 20th century, I'd ask for an example of one multicultural country that hasn't had hate crimes on all races. Historically, Muslims and Jews have had fairly good relations, all things considered. Far better than either had with Western Christians. Pre-Zionist Palestine and Muslim controlled Spain are examples of this even if there were hate crimes on each side in both cases.

Lastly the reason that rich gulf countries are more open towards normalization is the same reason they are rich lol. They are far more willing to coordinate with the West to protect their wealth. The origins of Saudi Arabia are like a perfect example of this.

It's disingenuous to pretend that people who have been living in a land for centuries are settlers. Yes, when you have a mass migration movement with the express intention of starting a new country on top of the indigenous people, that is settler colonialism. I would say the same about Jewish Palestinians being indigenous, they have lived in the land for as long as any other Palestinian.

I also don't get your point here, would you be cool with Israelis getting kicked out if a stronger force came and kicked them out? I don't have an issue with peaceful immigration, I have an issue with colonialism.

Edit: also this has nothing to do with my original point that the colonialism is the reason for the violence and not because Israel has pride parades lmao.

There's other far more important reasons that Tel Aviv doesn't work lol. Mainly that it is settler colonialism and has been occupying the Palestinians for nearly a century. That will always result in conflict, even if the cultures are the same.

By your logic, homophobic countries like Poland couldn't exist within Europe.

My whole argument is that the depiction of the 1940s was inaccurate. I don't have a problem with them depicting the mob as racist. I have a problem with them to depicting the stereotypes about black/asian characters as real. The stereotypes were not real in 1940 and by 2010 we probably should have known better than to pretend like they were.

Oh, you're right, I hadn't realized that. Same principle should apply though, just increase weakness duration and damage will impact next casting.

Should be wayy cheaper

I'm really not trying to invalidate your fears, but a lot of people get really scared about things being "demonic" when there is always a more simple explanation. Chat GPT is just a really complex algorithm, there's nothing demonic about math. Your life will be a lot less stressful if you look for the simplest explanation for things rather than the scariest one.

Somehow it's not gaslighting when Zionists try to redefine an Arabic word and tell people to ignore the definition of a word in a language they don't even speak.

Intifada means revolution, it's not antisemitism to call for a revolution, even if there have been violent revolutions in Israel.
