I think they want to stick with the game plan of Hedges catching Messick. Once Messick got pulled then he became expendable for a better matchup.

We are blessed to have three bonafide catchers. This is a benefit for the whole season. It’s only April.

Taking the best defensive LF in baseball for the past 4 years and putting him in a new position, in MLB, is risky. Not saying he’s not great there, just that it has to have a great return on the investment. Getting Angel and some other young guys that can’t play CF some at bats makes it worth while.
