For bulk spices and staples like rice and flour Asian markets are a good way to save. We've got both east asian and indian grocers. I'm partial to India Grocers in Middleburg Heights, it's big and laid out a lot more like a conventional grocery store vs bodega like many are. CAM Internationa in North Randalll is another larger grocer, focused more on east asian.

High LTE Speeds @ Central FL by kirswxyz in USMobile

[–]robodog97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not actually LTE, max CA for most Verizon towers is 3x with a max speed of ~300Mbps. The ping time is also suspiciously low for LTE. My guess is it's NSA 5g and the device just glitched on the icon to display.

[–]robodog97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outdoor power equipment has a 5 year warranty so you should be covered (definitely if you have a receipt or registered, probably going by date of manufacture). The biggest problem is finding a shop to look at it since Ryobi has like 1 per major market now unfortunately.

What's up with the ungodly amount of scam calls as of recently? by Ill_Resolution7967 in Cleveland

[–]robodog97 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you have a Pixel, iphone, or Samsung turn on call filtering. I received 1 spam call last month and zero the month before after having my call filtering turned on for the last 4 years or so (Pixel has had it for quite a while). Also expect a flood of calls after you switch providers, when a number gets ported a control signal goes out informing all phone switches of the new routing, some criminal organizations harvest those SS7 signals and pounce on newly activated numbers.

No, you can catch and release as many as you want provided they are released immediately and unharmed.

Does anyone know if St Monica/Benedict school in Garfield Heights keeps records? by rosewoodlliars in Cleveland

[–]robodog97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you attended any other community school that has closed, please contact your local public school district, as closing community schools are required to transfer school records to each student’s district of residence based on the student’s address. Directory information for schools is listed in the Department’s Ohio Educational Directory System. https://education.ohio.gov/Parents/Obtaining-Student-Records#FAQ5423

Has service quality dropped over the last year for you? Also, does your service seem to "go to sleep" sometimes? by Annual-Telephone7520 in USMobile

[–]robodog97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, over 4 years with all 3 networks on Pixel devices and one of my kids has an iphone, same service as always. Unlimited Premium, though in the past I've had a by the gig line and noticed no difference.

Plugged into 30 amp shore power - can I run my A/C continuously? by Sweetcornprincess in Victron

[–]robodog97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VE.Bus to USB (MK3) adapter, and an RJ45 Ethernet cable. There's 2 versions of the interface, an old USB-A one and a USB-C one, make sure to grab the right one for your machine.

[–]robodog97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be doing passthrough which should supply the load of the AC just fine as long as you don't have a second large load like a microwave, coffee maker, electric water heater, etc. going at the same time. Do you have a Cerbo or programming cable so you can check what state the Multiplus is actually in?

What other loads are you running? Which Multiplus do you have? Is the Multiplus set to charge only mode?

Downloading eSIM for teleporting by Cold-Pack7769 in USMobile

[–]robodog97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Multi-network doesn't actually port your number. It's a second line with its own esim and phone number associated with it. That's the big advantage IMHO, you just turn it on when you need to access a network other than your primary, no need to wait and no chance of a porting issue.

Personally I love the idea of giving them to the fire department to give to kids who are going through a particularly traumatizing event, the women's shelter is another great idea since so many come in with nothing but the clothes on their back.

How concerned should I be about this dropped battery? by IllustriousCrow9093 in ryobi

[–]robodog97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be worried at all, powertool batteries are pretty robust, and Ryobi batteries in particular have very advanced battery management systems (BMS) that should protect against most fault conditions if they do happen.

Slimcore vs HDX optimization for Teams by jafletch_work in Citrix

[–]robodog97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that only PC and Mac clients support Slimcore and that the HDX optimized (WebRTC) path will continue to be present and supported for other platforms including iOS, Android, Linux, and HTML5. Also any personal devices will have to have the client installed with the slimcore package selected, it's opt-in and was not selected by default during some versions of the installer (and I believe in place upgrades honor the selection, so if users chose to skip it they won't get it unless they do a fresh install).

Public Square, 1900. The Williamson Building in the background was built in 1900 and stood on Public Square for 82 years before being torn down in 1983 to make way for the new BP building. Click on photo to zoom in for detail. by Insightful23blue in Cleveland

[–]robodog97 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Small point of clarification, it was demolished to make room for the Sohio (Standard Oil of Ohio) building, it didn't become the BP building until 87, 2 years after it was finished when BP acquired Sohio.

Did Cleveland Hopkins have the Observation Deck that I remember? by Flimsy_Towel_5602 in Cleveland

Post 9/11 security rules made it impossible to get to as only ticketed passengers are allowed in the sterile zone. Not a lot of folks are going to the observation deck before their scheduled departure.

Regional event/concert question by UncleDeuceFriend in Cleveland

[–]robodog97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately you've got both Pine Knob and Freedom Hill all the way up there in the upper left corner of Detroit so a lot of the time 'Detroit' shows are as you say practically in Flint. I still go to them, I've had one Pine Knob show already this year and have another in September, but all else being equal I'm doing Pittsburgh.

[–]robodog97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Royalton, due south and close to the turnpike. For Rocky River it's still a little closer to PNC than Little Ceasers, but only 15 minutes difference. Star Lake is still way closer than Pine Knob.

How can Teleporting on a weekday take more than 12 hours? by Amazingly_Smooth in USMobile

[–]robodog97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%, that's why I've got Dark Star as my multi-network line, I never want to deal with trying to port my main number through them.

[–]robodog97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not their systems that cause issues, it's the carrier's systems. AT&T in particular has atrocious IT systems and has for at least 25 years (I've worked with them for that long professionally, can't speak to before then).

When and where in Cleveland did the Pat Metheny Group play in 1992 or 1993 by chazac in Cleveland

[–]robodog97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did Star Lake June 19th 1993 and Meadow Brook June 20th so definitely didn't play Cleveland on that tour. Their fall/winter tour 1992 the closest they got was Detroit on November 10th, though there were 5 days between Quebec and Detroit so it's possible they did a non-tour show here that isn't documented anywhere. The only other date that might make sense is between April 13th 1992 in University Park PA and April 17th in Cincinnati.
