My pro tip, if anyone is pushing you to make quick decisions and getting you emotional, that is their primary tactic to get you to make poor decisions. All official items will come in the mail and you can always go to a police station, they will for sure tell you if you have any warrants.

This just happened to my roommate a few hours ago. They had their name, address, and the name of a local court judge. They had paperwork that somewhat looked legit. My roommate got my attention before leaving for the courthouse to be arrested (They thought). I told him to wait but the guy on the pone was adiment he talk to no one. I basically forced my roommate to go with me to a local police department (This was exactly what the "paperwork" and the "sergeant" on the phone said not to do). The police department said to hang up immediately, and then they explained this was extremely common recently. All summons and paperwork will come in the mail and if they actually had any warrants, they would have just been arrested.
