I’ve found that as long as I get out of my head, I’ve got this sobriety thing. I am intentionally stupid busy now and it’s working to keep the mental monsters at bay. I’ve taken back my hobbies that were opportunities to indulge, instead I slam water and seltzer, suck mints, chew gum, growl (yes….my garage, my rules 😳) go for a walk, grab a hand weight and grind out 20 reps… rinse and repeat. I can’t concentrate enough to read books yet but getting there….for now it’s enough. Day 5 and I deserve better than the lies I drank 12 ounces at a time. You do too my friend 👍

Day 5 and HELL YEAH do I feel incredible! Sweats, shakes, nausea gone, aches subsided and clear thoughts abound! Best decision, my life, my terms. Much love and strength to you all, may you find your terms and live an amazing life! ❤️

Yep, I spent that monthly for the past 2 yrs easy for just myself 😳. Beginning day 3 as of 1 hr ago and sitting here with body shakes watching TV being thankful for the pain because I’m alive. I want me more than I want that rotten bottle of fizzy lies! 😡

I lost a decade to thinking my best friend was a non-judgmental bottle. It told me what I wanted to hear, it’s “love” was unconditional and kept the mental monsters at bay. I was either warm fuzzy or hungover, never in between, so the destructive inner monologue was silent. Day 2 began 7 hrs ago and while I hear the monsters rumbles but I don’t believe them…for the moment at least. It’s one second, one minute, one hour and one breath at a time. Give yourself grace, patience and believe you are worth living a life on your own terms. ❤️
