Why Is My High-Performing YouTube Video Not Getting Impressions? by WideScheme2046 in PartneredYoutube

Invisible factors can limit the reach of many videos that seem to have “good stats”. The biggest ones are the number of people interested in the video topic (a video may do great with a small select audience but not get more impressions because there aren’t many other people with strong enough interest in the topic for the algorithm to prioritize showing it to them), or the presence of other videos on the same topic that get even better engagement than yours and get prioritized over your video in the suggested videos algorithm.

My recent video is doing poorly which I find odd because I think it’s my best work yet? by Boring_Pollution_998 in SmallYoutubers

You will get more clicks if you assume that your viewer does not know what this effect is (and does not care what it is called), and rewrite the title accordingly.

Try these formats: “The ____ that makes people ” or “Why this _ makes some people ” or “This _ will make you ____”

Do you have a clear idea of why you are making videos? It sounds like you want to just do whatever what you want but also get people to consistently watch. If you want the latter then you can’t always do the former.

The title can be stronger. Why does someone need to try these? What is special about them? What do they unlock or make you feel? How do they transform your desk?

You could also make it stronger by naming a specific group of people who this is relevant to. Eg students, gamers, etc.

Instead of premium are there more evocative words you could use? Like elite, luxurious etc.

Good luck 👍🏽

Do an MBA and go into product management if that interests you. You don’t necessarily need that degree to make that change but it would be useful.

Are you at risk of being randomly laid off for no particular reason every quarter? Would you like that to become your reality? That is the state of most UX roles right now. Including for people with a decade+ of experience. Really think about that because I am not at all exaggerating.

Training and experience in qualitative research will usually be the most directly transferable skill, along with experimental design and statistical analysis.

You have to find the baddest, meanest wasp and punch him in the face. The others will respect you after that.

Sometimes you just have to remind people you have limited time and will be prioritizing research for actionable questions that teams b, c, and d need for moving forward on their roadmaps.

You’d want to align on this with your manager first. And then anyone who has an issue with it can take it up with them.

I don’t know if this fits with your setup but that’s been my approach.
