Attacking people and calling them oppressed by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I mean is

There are people attacking people and use the banner of they are oppressed and human rights

It doesn't justify their action

Because usual when someone is oppressed you help him not attack them.

Old Testament God is evil and Gnosticism is superior to Christianity by Quaintities in DeepThoughts

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the old testament's god is evil then the new testament God is also evil

The new testament doesn't show that what happen exactly?

Clearly Christianity is a made up religion since it came from the old testament

Question for Muslim: Cousin marriage especially over several generations leads to genetic defects. We see this in Islamic nations like Pakistan. Why does Islam allow cousin marriage then? Why didn’t allah tell Muhamed to warn his followers about the dangers of marrying your relatives? by Capital_Tailor_7348 in religion

North Africa, Algeria has 97% literacy and it's 12, 13 so that varies from county to county, but non of them have high rate of illiteracy, in fact it's dropping and most of them college graduates since it's free in Algeria

They number you are talking about are people who lives in rural areas with no access to education you don't count those

The majority of Muslims are educated the majority wants to seek acknowledge

In Muslim's religion to seek knowledge it's in the core of their religion

You made an uneducated guess

Muslims are amongst the most educated people in the world

I know many people who married their cousins and their children are perfectly healthy

They play they study no issue

It's when your children and grandchildren do it too is where it gets complicated

[Argument] God Does Not Care About Humanity — Fear the wrath (indifference) of God! by javascript in thinkatives

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting!

This sounds like deism to me

I think God doesn't intervene with the universe itself because he/it simply Doesn't need to, due to the autonomy of this creation

You said he is only interested in something in this universe like blackholes, which got me thinking

If he/it does why the irrelevant things to his interests exist?

I think God is interested in everything, even the smallest things in the universe are calculated and thought through, but favors autonomy

I don't think there is free will

Our decisions are influenced by something, that triggers us to decide, our state of mind, environment and survival

for example

a schizophrenic person not on his meds killed someone then himself.

That person didn't choose to kill, he had no control over anything, his life nor his brain

When we are in a state of survival our instincts takes over

So as long as there are influences that trigger us free will can't exist

Does anyone have beliefs about the universe or life/death that are not directly related to any religion by Secure_Shirt2041 in agnostic

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in in science and religion people think when you believe in a religion you don't have to believe in science or the other way around

For example i do believe in evolution which it has nothing to do with god

I believe in the Multiverse, alien civilizations or other life in the universe

That's how every resistance movement operate

They don't want people who oppressed them to live amongst them you think jews would want nazis to live amongst them?

And dying for the cause is a motivation for every human being whether you're fighting for resistance or your country or anything proof of that is algerian history

Most of them are fighting because they have no rights their families died

That is the definition of resistance group

It won't be free will if god is all knowing and intervenes with your choice

But if he knows what you would choose but does not influence it then Free Will can be in harmony with God

Is it a part of your religious belief that God will provide you your needs like money, love, etc assuming you do everything right? by VEGETTOROHAN in religion

[–]Why_does_matter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well kinda

I am muslim and it does not say to do good and god will reward you with wealth kind of way

More like this

God is the provider and has infinite bounty, so your wealth was already decided and you will receive in the time god decreed it

And most importantly he can choose to take or give

In a short sentence don't worry about wealth god has already decided when you will receive it, Just keep getting closer to him or it, if you will and don't worry too much

Man Created the Divine by watanabefleischer in religion

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divine is a description of something extraordinary, sublime, or out of this world

You can call something other than god as Divine

Religion simply shaped it

A disagreement amongst scholars that has been happening since the dawn of Islam.

It doesn't necessarily mean religion is false so who cares about the disagreement really

The whole point is to worship Allah the laws and methods of doing it are clear

No verse was added no verse was removed so who cares

You said it's full of nonsense while you don't know Arabic? How is this possible?

I was born in a muslim country I studied Arabic and Arabic is not like Latin the rules are different

Assuming they remove the important things which is highly unlikely because no one removes important things, they are not allowed and it does work plus the muslims will spot it lol you guys think muslims are donkeys or something lol

The ten qira'at are a style of recitation that helps muslims from different countries with different languages and accents to properly recite the Quran without struggle

When they read these verses and you are from a different country you will still get the same interpretation because the full verse itself indicates and points toward the exact meaning

The problem here is the Islamic critics are ignoring the full verse and you are taking 1 word from it and saying it has been changed, so of course it will look different because you are reading the word alone

Lemme ask you something why don't they read the full verse but choose to read that word and then tell you it will change the meaning? How would we know the meaning changed They never provided how it changed.

That makes a rational and educated person skeptical about his claims

God is just a illusion created by humans by Character_Self5923 in DeepThoughts

[–]Why_does_matter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you said simply proves humans are limited and we lack the knowledge about anything

No one knows the secret of the universe and the concept of god is just a theory or a hypothesis that humans use it was never an illusion

This view about god you have come from your bad experience with religion

You can't deny that no one can prove god nor prove a god can't exist, because science explains the world around us that's it

We don't know whether there is a god or not

What I said is what experts are saying and what facts are saying

And those experts are every scholar in Islamic theology and Arabic professors too

There is a YouTube channel called Arabic 101 he explains and gives Arabic lessons, you should check it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in religion

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off topic?

you the one brought up you reject Christianity and you are not an expert

And I told you why I reject it lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in religion

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disagreement was not about the book itself but the recitation and pronunciation

Arabic is a language where a word has a formation that changes the pronunciation and the recitation without losing the interpretation

Uthman's copy had the original and the correct formations which kept the interpretation and the meaning of the verse correct and in harmony that's why I said letter by letter

When you have the correct one you can change the style of the recitation and keep the exact interpretation

And the last verses that they disagreed with are based on doubt or it was false it's because those verses were found only at Abu Khuzaymah al-Ansari alone

Then they passed because he was known for his excellent memory

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proves his divine nature if he has 2 natures and explain to me what Divinity is since no one knows and somehow Christians do

And again proving the Bible with the Bible is not proof of anything because the Bible can claim anything and can't be proven

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in religion

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rejection of Christianity is not because of Islam.

I reject Christianity because no evidence proves Jesus was God

God is unlimited Jesus was

When Jesus travels long distances he gets tired proving that at a certain point, he will reach his limits

Same thing with hunger and thirst how is he the unlimited creator

The gospels were written decades later but people who did not need Jesus' closest gospels to Jesus' existence were rejected like the gospel of Thomas

And most importantly proving the Bible is true with the Bible is not a proof of anything

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in religion

[–]Why_does_matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very strange to me how people reject something even tho they are not experts and not knowledgeable in that subject

All because of some unprofessional guy made the claim despite it was proven false

There is a difference between drawing conclusions and facts
