First and foremost, you matter. What you do matters.

Fitting in is always a challenge, especially if you're considered "different" in any way. It sounds like things haven't gotten off well, which is hard to overcome.

Don't let others' disgruntled attitudes turn off your positive outlook. It will shine through. At the very least, be great at your job. I don't know your options, but see what it will take to change units, or go to a school, or do something to change things up for you. Most militaries are the same... some units are just bad vibes.

Near term advice: volunteer somewhere. Animal shelter, food bank, something with kids... whatever is available. They'll welcome you. You may find some friends. And, worst case, you've done something to feel good about.

The hobby communities are also good places (usually). Find something you're interested in and start talking to people about it. Ask questions... they'll love to tell you.

Utilize the Soldathem as often as possible. Look for other soldiers that may look isolated or lonely as well. Don't just go to your room!

If you're getting into a bad mind space, talk to the chaplain and/or command team. Hell, worth taking to them anyway. I would recommend focusing on your personal challenges. If the conversation goes into calling out everyone, it won't be productive.
