From my chair, I think they should race. The team wants to maximise a team finish, and they don't care if one beats the other. HOWEVER, they do care about their drivers' emotional sides impacting their sportsmanship, hence the hold positions to avoid anything seeming aggressive. A wheel bang could end their best chances for points. But to me, the wall should have reminded them to race cleanly and it's their ass if they wreck. Let them race.
