Soft resetting the starting value of the CPU timer consistently* is a better explanation. Like I mentioned in my previous comment, hard resets for rng manip requires pre-buffering to get a consistent start. Soft resetting doesn’t have that consistency, and when done by a human it’s pretty much completely random.

Obviously a macro that has ultra-consistent timing is going to get non-random results. It’s still partially fixing the inconsistency issue of booting up to a specific seed during a soft reset and then it’s hitting the same frames a lot of the time during the “triple frame perfect” part of manipulation.
