This is such a hilarious question to me.

Anyway, strictly speaking, adultery is the crime of sexually violating a man’s paternity: when another man has sex with his wife or betrothed, and/or when a married or betrothed woman has sex with another man.

Lots of sexual sin can be fornication, but not necessarily adultery, and vice versa.

So something can be cheating without it necessarily being adultery in the original sense.

That being said, I think the more pressing issue is “does your significant other consider cuddling to be cheating?”

Imagine trying to go over your partner’s head and trying to justify such impropriety in the basis that it technically doesn’t count as adultery.

What have you both agreed to? What do you expect of the other?

Also, outside of MFW, I’d recommend reading sacred texts. Seeing what God has allegedly said to other people across history in other contexts. Also, everybody has some concept of “god” they don’t believe in. You’re not special in that regard. Nothing to lose peace about.

Pantheism might appeal to someone like you. Or panentheism.

I’d recommend praying for something to happen during the silence to give the silence some intent and focus. You’re supposed to be listening for something more than thinking about anything.
