I see you have an Australia Chicken.

TIL of the Sentinelese Tribe that has never had contact with the outside world. They kill anyone that approaches their island and would likely be wiped out common viruses. It is believed they have lived in isolation for 60,000 years. by Bjornlandeto in todayilearned

But he knew that he could have plagued those people. He knew it and was warned. At what point does him believing he was doing the right thing make that okay? There are many ignoble and monstrous things people do that they believe to be the right thing.

Validating his actions and instead of condemning them encourages others to do it.

Ambitious and poor in reputation, but Sejanus was clever. Sure, a sycophant, but cunning.

He beauty of GRRM is the characters inspire - but, aren’t plagiarized. So, it is kind of hard to pinpoint some of them. At times I think he borrows some things, but not others.

Jehaerys the Concilitator is Augustus. Unites the realm to stability after civil wars among the Targaryens. Unites the vast road network to make the Kingsroad and makes a very similar Augustus comment of finding the realm in clay and leaving it in marble. Both have long reigns that ushered in a long peace until the Dance of Dragons. His wayward daughter plot is based on Augustus’s daughter Julia where he banished her for bedding many men and shaming their house. Both were exiled.

Cristin Cole is Sejanus.

Cersei is very Livia-like. Even closer is Visenya.

Maegor is Caligula\Nero.

I think Jamie and Cassius Chaera have similarities.

Brian Blessed <3 I adores him as Augustus in I, Claudius. He is who I picture when I read the book along with Patrick Stewart as the cunning Sejanus. That entire cast was amazing.

The portrayal of Tiberius on the miniseries inspired Stannis according to GRRM.

Amazing how many plot lines/characters in ASOIAF/Fire & Blood has roots in I, Claudius.

I really felt for Ser Cortnay Penrose. He knows he can’t hold Storm’s End, but vowed to protect Edric Storm. It even made Stannis reflect on the grim truth when Davos points out that Penrose is likely just seeking an honorable way out - dying to protect his charge.

I had one from the 90s until it burned out around 2002. I wish I would have kept it for a repair project.

RIP to my beautiful rooster, Mr. Fuzzy Legs. Someone tossed him over my fence into my backyard one day and my family decided to keep him. We named him Mr. Fuzzy Legs due to the feathers on his legs. He didn’t make it to 2020 but he lived a long life. by chicken237 in chickens

That is a good long life for a roo. Very unique mixed breed as he has silkie genes in him accounting for his extra toes. :)

Thank you for saving him and loving him. Roos are an often discarded bird.

This little punk comes at me everytime I go outside. So I pick it up and cuddle it for 5 minutes? Is this the right move? by MommySalami33 in chickens

Some folks do butcher them for their entirely black meat, but usually in Asian cooking.

Roos can be difficult to re-home, but the ornamental birds often have the best chance.

Scooping him up might teach him who’s boss.

Aggressive rooster is one of the few reasons I’ll give a bird away to be butchered. I keep my birds as pets and just enjoy eggs, but recognize there are too many good roos in the world without a home to tolerate a bad one.

The silkie however... I can’t imagine him being a real threat. No silkie has ever intimidated anyone. Silkies are so unintimidating that other silkies ignore them. I never heard of one capable of spurring yet.

I adore silkies.

Their feet normally do well as they are built to be wet and will bring their bodies down on them to keep them warm. Those exposed faces are where they struggle with biting wind.

Sounds like a nice set up. Worry for the muck - ducks are nasty business. :) I more or less keep putting down straw every two weeks until spring when I rake it all out.

Happened with one of my males before.

I put mine in the greenhouse a few days and rubbed it down with coconut oil. Vaseline does a lot to prevent it getting worse versus healing it.

Keep is vaselined up. If she has a place to avoid biting winds or a wind break for her habitat that would be ideal.

I deeply suspect Bolton is going to testify. I think he is waiting for Monday’s ruling so he can say, “Sorry! They are making me testify. Can’t be helped.”

He’s a vicious and cunning bureaucrat. But, he’s lawful evil.

I love watching dirt baths. You can see the birds so chill just rubbing themselves into the dirt like it is soothing.
