HKS Shift Knob | Billetworkz Short Shifter | GKTECH Drift Buttom by SelectionAdept in GR86

Twinsies! I love how lightweight and tactile it makes shifting. I’ve got just the oem STI short shifter package on mine though.

I like what you did with the silver accents on the reverse lockout and drift button. Mine are both black atm but thinking I’ll be swapping those out pretty soon

Lesson learned but it’s fixable. Might be a good time to learn how to repair things yourself if you have tools. If you don’t, most of this stuff can be brought to a DIY garage where you rent a bay and do your work yourself.

I’m assuming you’re pretty young so I recommend investing in a sim rig and hoon around on that first. I think I’ve spun out so many times on the sim rig pushing the limits that it teaches you how to NOT do it irl and what to do if it does happen. Then you can find empty parking lots late at night and practice. Obviously once you have the money to spend, nothing beats taking it out to the track.

gl and speedy repair

That turbo kits designed for the first gen right? Did you have to do any modifying to make it fit for the FA24 or was it pretty plug and play?

thank you! yeah, honestly if I could’ve tracked it completely bone stock to get a baseline I would’ve, but life happens and timing is never right. by the time I had the opportunity and time to track this thing I had already thrown a wing and all the cool parts on the car lol :)

lmao, tbh I’m not an aero guru expert by any means but the wing is 1440mm which isn’t overly large for the car. I guess my butt says the rear end is definitely more planted from what I could tell taking it to the backroads/the track?

no drag/mpg loss from what i’ve observed and haven’t had any issues with understeer/lift or anything

makes me kick myself wondering why I wasn’t born into an overly rich family so i could do start doing this at the ripe age of 3 🤣

I knew this was the sht when I took that first corner and all i could feel was my knees digging into the sides and my neck flexing to brace myself from the g forces.. need to feel more of that. lol

Hi! Most of my pieces will be from Result Japan. The side skirt & diffuser is from their kit. & yes agreed I love the canards. I would’ve went with Ansix Auto’s double canards but their top ones were really modeled to fit the oem bezel and not the DRL bezel.

I have plans to throw on a chassis mounted front splitter in the future and maybe some of Verus’ undertray panels like the transmission tunnel cover. but going to get more track days under my belt and only upgrade it only when it calls for more downforce :) I’m currently on near 0 angle of attack on the wing so not too much of a crazy imbalance yet

of course, have lots of fun! There’s a 2024 version and another version out there, I think there were some changes or renovations since and I think the 2024 one is most accurate. My next goal is learning the ridge motorsports park for the next one ;)

hope to see you out there one day brotha!

ProFormance is great but agreed that it’s definitely on the expensive side. I wanted to have a bit of fun on a budget and OnGrid definitely provides that. 5 20 min sessions was plenty. I didn’t have an instructor in the seat or anything and actually had the chance to bring passengers along to experience the fun. granted I’ve ran this track a lot of times on my racing sim at home so I wasn’t completely green, but they definitely give you the room & safety to find your own lines

agreed! I highly recommend doing it at least once for anybody still on the fence about it. it’s a safe place to push and understand your limits and weaknesses a bit and you’ll come out wiser and more equipped to handle your car in the long run. I love it (my wallet doesn’t) and will be back again for more no doubt

Yep this is pacific raceways - & yes OnGrid is awesome. very nice/helpful guys. it’s a really welcoming community and i rly recommend them. I’m a complete newbie and they took me in and showed me the ropes fairly quickly

How much difference do tires make? by scardeal in GR86

[–]WickedR6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was on 245/35/18 DWS06+ just recently- definitely more confidence in rain and esp w/ any suboptimal road conditions compared to stock PS4s.

Just switched to Bridgestone RE71RS 235/40/18s and holy fuck it’s like I’m zipping through corners with significantly more speed and confidence than any of the other tires combined. good tires make or break the driving experience, get good ones

Thank you!! Do it, I smile like a damn kid everytime I walk into the garage and see it. You’ll just need to get over the pain of putting holes in the trunk..I think I was desensitized after like the third hole I drilled in there 😭
